Ok...
I dunno if I am allowed to ask this here.
I have been wanting to hear it FOREVER only problem is e-bay always has it on a record...I have no player here at school...Once in a while I'll see it on casette. Again, no casette player (stupid technology).
The recording was never released on CD.
I do know that every now and again someone sells a home-made Cd version of it.
I was wondering if anyone had it or could convert it to a CD, etc.
Thanks!
As long as I started this,
Which do you think is better - Red or Blue (Japanese) Recording?
I seem to hear Red a lot...but dunno.
It's very hard to find someone who has both red and blue Japanese recordings. The red one is much easier to find.
I have the Tel Aviv cast recording, but I'm not able to put it (or anything else) onto CD right now. It's excellent, so I hope you get to hear it some time!
I believe the Red and Blue Japanese recordings were indeed made into CDs.
The recording I want most is the Korean recording! An acquaintance had a copy and made a cassette for me, and the actor playing Marius had the most beautiful and emotive voice.
"I believe the Red and Blue Japanese recordings were indeed made into CDs."
Yes, both of those were, but the Tel Aviv one wasn't -- only on LPs and tapes. At the time it was still in print, there wasn't enough of a market in Israel for it on CD.

I guess this doesn't really help, but I have a casette of Les Mis in Hebrew in case you come across a tape player...
Is Dudu Fischer on the Tel Aviv recording? He was the best Valjean EVER!!!!
yea, it's Dudu...which is why I wanna hear it...
Bwaygal - thanks. I'm gonna try to find someone here (like my roommate) who can do that ....we have a recording studio here so maybe we can convert it...
It's beautiful in Hebrew, but even more beautiful when he sings it in English. He was the best Valjean I have ever seen. Dave Clemmons being the second.
I have the red cast cds's and the Hebrew cassette, but a friend of mine put some songs on a CD for me. Neither recordings are favorites of mine. Anybody heard the Hungarian recording? I've only seen the LP on sale once and it was WAAAAY beyond my price range. How's the cast?
I had the french version one...I bought it at a yard sale for 25 cents...and then I lost it. darn.
I have most versions...
I think it's time for the Japanese version at last....
And the moses-forsaken Hebrew one
Thenardier---You have the Hungarian one too? How is it?
except that one - sorry
I don't have that one, Blue Japanese (gonna get red), swedish...and the english ones (other than obc, tac, and csr)
Do you also have the Korean one?
...erm...plus a few others.
Here's what I DO have:
OFC - Original French Concept
CSR - Complete Symphonc
OBC - Broadway
TAC - 10th Anniversary
PRC - '91 Paris Revival
DCR - Duisberg
VCR - Vienna
MCR - Madrid
MLR - Mexico (Live)
ALR - Argentina (Live)
On the list to to get:
"Red" Japanese
Hebrew
Swedish
I also have random tracks - like "Attack on Rue Plumet" from (I believe) the Red Japanese recording, För Mig Själv (Swedish - On My Own), and Tam Ve Hvezdách (Czech - Stars).
Yeah, Les Mis is my favorite show!
Is there any place in America to get the Hebrew recording? I don't care if it's a tape. I want it!!!!!!!!!!!!
AWESOME!!!!!!!
You can get a CD of the Tel Aviv cast at http://www.maxmusicals.net because he does record to CD transfers. I like both the blue and red casts- I love the gavroche on the blue cast!! The Fantine and Eponine are fantastic on the red cast. I like the valjean on the blue cast better.
In 1999, I saw Les Miz in Tel Aviv in Hebrew, it was awesome!

for whoever is interested in this show on cd, please contact me.
I also have a 3 cd set (full show) which was broadcasted. It has one song missing and "the explanation" of the show (around 30 seconds before each song)
