Posted: 8/18/09 at 5:22pmOk, I recently bought a copy of Amazon, and it arrived today...the barcode is in sharp focus, but the rest of the label is sorta fuzzy...almost like a reprint. Is this common amongst official copies, or have I been sold a bootleg?

Husk, if the label copy is fuzzy it is highly suspect. Does the play side look like an actual pressed CD or a CD-R. If it is a CD-R copy the seller ripped you off.
First Night, the label that released this, usually do sharp clear info printed on th CD not on a label.
Does it play properly?
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

My copy is clear as a bell. The front has the Cossett logo on the far side with the blue flag behind her.
The front reads:
HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE
LES
MISERABLES
MANCHESTER
COMPANY
THE WORLDS MOST POPULAR MUSICAL
The CD reads:
HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE
LES
MISERABLES
MANCHESTER
COMPANY
1.I DREAMED A DREAM
2. STARS
3. ON MY OWN
4. BRING HIM HOME
5. EMPTY CHAIRS AT EMPTY TABELS
On the left side is the First Night Logo and it says:
SCORE CD34
(Copyright symbol) 1992 Exalshow LTD
Right side has compact disk logo and:
MANUFACTURED IN GREAT BRITIAN
SEE INFLAX CARD FOR DETAILS
Around the CD reads:
ALL RIGHTS OF THE PRODUCER AND OWNER OF THE RECORDED WORKS RESERVED. UNAUTHORIZED COPYING, HIRING, RENTING, PUBLIC PERFORMANCE AND BROADCADSTING OF THIS RECORD PROHIDITED
Hope this helps!

It's the real deal. I've had my copy for near 10 years now.
Meredith Braun's version of "On My Own" is my favorite of any that have been recorded.

frontrowcenter-
I think the physical CD is legit. It looks just like several CDs I have purchased in Barnes and Noble.
The CD itself came in a case similar to the Rocky Horror sampler in 2001 (which a friend snagged for me on their trip that year).
If I need to, I can take pics and post them.
It was only 2.98 for the CD, but it would be nice if it were legit.
goober-
I know it's an actual released CD, my question is about whether or not I bought the actual release, or did someone just reproduce the label and CD and sell me a bootlegged copy of the release.
