This draft seemed to be trying to marry tick tick.. BOOM and RENT. Jonathan and his friend Michael are both characters in it.

I came across a draft of the RENT screenplay that is copyrighted from 2004 and by a guy named Glenn Ripps. It's utterly crazy. Jonathan Larson was intended to be a Character in it and his life was to intertwine with with characters. I have the script if you PM me, but does anyone have any more info on it?

I know LuPone was asked to be the Witch in the original production of Into the Woods but fought it because she wanted to be Cinderella. When she consented to be the Witch, Anything Goes and other actresses had already come into play. It's a pity. Hearing her sing "Last Midnight" would be divine.

It's a shame that they could not keep the members of the g(r)eek chorus and put them in other roles... even if it was just in the chorus... Such a shame. It's not their fault that some of the original creative team was on an ego trip...
