Les Miserables and Oklahoma are coming to Buffalo this spring and I wondering if any one knows anything about these companies?
Any performers associated with them? I just saw a commercial for Les Miz and thought I'd ask. (No snow today. Yea!)

I saw the Les Miz tour when it was here. I'm not aware of any cast changes so I'm just going to mention those I saw. Randal Keith is Valjean. I thought he was amazing. I also enjoyed Ma-Anne Dinisio's Eponine, Tonya Dixon's Fatine and I don't remember the name but the kid who played Gavroche was great. It was my first time seeing it and I hadn't read a synopsis or anything before so I had some trouble following along at points and don't remember some people too clearly. Overall it was a great production even if I had some trouble and I imagine you will enjoy it.
I'm seeing the Les Miz tour February 27th in Rochester, NY. So I'll report back to you all! I can't wait! I saw the show 3 weeks before it closed on Broadway and loved it!

message in the last Equity newsletter says protests are being organized against the Olkahoma! tour. Expect to dodge angry union members w/ signs at the entrance if you attend this one.
Josh Young is currently playing Marius. You might want to check out his site. (And rather enthusiastic message board.)

Of course Les Mis isn't coming to Vegas, it's only my favorite show!

Isn't the current cast of Les Miz a bunch of the final Les Miz on Broadway performers?
That pisses me off that people protest in front of the theatres. Leave the people alone...most of them could care less about Equity/non-Equity. They just want to see a show. I realize why they are doing this and I think it is for a good "cause," but they could do it another way.
1) Les Miz was in Vegas right after 9/11.
2) Only about 5 or 6 people currently on the tour were in the final Broadway cast.
I've seen the Oklahoma tour, and while it's not the greatest thing I've seen, it certainly does have some wonderful performances and a great score.
And..of course Equity would be out there picketing. Since they can't get work for their members, it at least gives them something to do.

You're welcome. :)
Also, it seems that the Les Miz tour is going on hiatus again this summer.
Hmm.

Where would one suggest people protest if not in front of the theaters? Perhaps one would assume most of "them" attending could care less is because they don't realize they are seeing a non-Equity/non-union production. Ergo, the need for a demonstration/picketing/protest that the attending audience can see.
There are still many cities with long and strong union ties. Cities where other unions stand shoulder to shoulder as a sign of support. Does it effect attendance? Probably not to someone with a ticket already in hand. But with some it does. Some will never cross a line. Especially when a union has been part of a city's heritage and part of a family tradition. Yes, the protest can make a difference.
Now, what other way would one suggest they go about it?
