I missed this little gem from the other day. Lesley Ann Warren will perform, along with Joyce Bulifant, from the original 1967 Disney's "The Happiest Millionaire".

http://www.onstageblog.com/columns/2017/10/12/lesley-ann-warren-returns-to-the-stage-for-one-night-only-benefit-concert-celebrating-disneys-the-happiest-millionaire

This will be a one night concert staging at Joe's Pub on 12/3/17 to benefit BC/EF AIDS.

I've always been intrigued with the lovely Lesley Ann, her performances and theater and film history. Being able to watch "Cinderella" "Happiest M..." and others on DVD is one of the true treasures of being able to "Time Capsule" great artists, singers, dancers...not to mention the almost endless re-runs like for Joyce Bulifant and "Mary Tyler Moore" etc...

I would love to find video of Lesley Ann's "110 In The Shade" or "Bye Bye Birdie" or "Drat The Cat". She was even offered "Victor/Victoria"s Norma on Broadway (her Oscar nominated role). It's crazy how close she is/was to "Babs"...Streisand worked on "Cat" as a producer and was married to Elliot Gould; they both ended up being married to Jon Peters.

I'd love to hear her "memoirs". I'm hoping to make it on 12/3; for pete's sake, John Davidson is doing "Neverland" on tour. Can't they give him the night off to be the "Millionaire" again?

Thanks for posting this. The newly remastered DVD of Lesley's Cinderella is one of the proudest releases on my Shout! Broadway label - it's just gorgeous - as was Lesley when she came to NYC to promote the DVD when Cinderella was on Broadway!

Unless someone snuck in a silent 8mm film home movie camera into the theatre, you’ll never see an audience bootleg video of any pre-80s shows as video camcorders didn’t exist until the late 70s/early 80s.  The very first audience bootleg videos started surfacing in the very early 1980s.

These silent 8mm film movie cameras is how we have audience bootleg footage from FUNNY GIRL, FOLLIES, BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S, etc.   They’re only clips and silent but it’s the only visual record we have of these long-gone shows.  The Lincoln Center didn’t start archiving shows until the mid-70s and only select shows not all.  Anything from pre-1975 is lost forever basically.   The rare Ed Sullivan Show performances are the closest we’ll get to any documentation as well as the Tony Awards performances.

I'd love to hear a new rendition of  "Bay Yum Pum Pum"-

"you must slide across the floor

As if it's a dreadful bore-

To the the rhythm  of Bay yum pum pum..."

John Davidson is responsible for me being 'a gay'.

I was a normal hetero till I saw this movie--thank God for John Davidson--how do you stage door a film?

PS As a performer I was always a Tommy Steele type but I did wish I could have been like JD-swoon!

I've gotten to know John Davidson fairly well in recent years. A nicer guy would be hard to find. Yes, he's very much aware of his gay following.

Well as close as one might want to be to a woman who steals your husband.

My main Leslie Ann Warren experience was seeing her in Scarlett - the Harold Rome Gone With the Wind musical in 1973. It was like watching someone who's dream role had turned into a nightmare. The night I was there, Melanie was out and her understudy was on. By coincidence I was back at the Dorthy Chandler Pavillion the next day for an audition in the upstairs rehearsal rooms and a friend of mine connected to the production grabbed me and told me that Leslie was now sick and the Melanie understudy now had to go on for Scarlett (because she covered both roles), and an ensemble member was being put in as Melanie - on book if necessary. That show was truly cursed.

Sweet Lips, I'm glad you're enjoying John Davidson "fleshbacks"... I even just found him in a curtain call from "Company" in a1979 tv special. This looks like it was a super production. Hearing Bernadette Peters sing "Barcelona" was thrilling...

The hair/wig stylist that cuts mine and my husband's hair has a lot of nice John Davidson stories too.

John Davidson, you have a fan boy that's borderline TMI here....

they both ended up being married to Jon Peters.

Streisand was never married to Peters, just shacked up w him for a few years.

Thanks Steve C . I get awfully confused when I read a post like yours---your name is masculine, you refer to your wig stylist AND you have a husband[lucky you] and if I knew what TMI was----just worked it out--settle down, no more juvenile wxt dreams.

SweetLips, never apologize for being "gaga" over anyone or anything! I really enjoy hearing from fans/professionals/everyone that has your enthusiasm. I think your John Davidson fantasies are special. We all have those, dude.

So, "too much information" was the wrong term. Btw, I am male and married, so no confusion, and while I wear a wig when necessary, our "personal" hair stylist is also a professional hair and wig stylist that works on shows, tv, movies, House of Cards, Veep, Turn and more...

I just want John Davidson to get the memo on this post and make it to the "Happiest Millionaire".

And sadly, to BWW...thanks for the "huge" Trump click ads that started today. (You guys sure know your target audience, NOT) Everybody on BWW just loves seeing trumpTrash ad clicks while we read and research the arts and Broadway...

That was from MUSICAL COMEDY TONIGHT! which aired on PBS and hosted by Danny Kaye’s wife Sylvia Fine.   They did musical number recreations from classic Broadway musicals - from COMPANY, SWEET CHARITY, OKLAHOMA! to GOOD NEWS.  As you can see in their COMPANY section, the all-star cast is stellar.  They did not perform the entire shows - just select musical numbers.  Juliet Prowse recreated her original London Charity for their SWEET CHARITY section.   Sadly, only 3 episodes/specials aired and never released on home video.

Stop contributing to my fantasies!

I now have visions of John D, Rex Smith[and Michael York] and myself all holding hands and skipping off down that YBR to become Rockettes.

[do those girls EVER make a mistake?']
