Yay for Rooms! My husband and I loved it when we saw it in DC this past September.

I'm sad about no Natascia Diaz because I loved her in the role.

I'm so glad about the production, though. (I'm a huge PSG fan and have been for many years.) I think it will make an excellent Off-Broadway show. . . I hope the economy agrees. *sigh*

I loved the production of Rooms at MetroStage, and I am so glad NYC Theatregoers wil be able to see this wonderful show. DC critics and audiences fell in love with the show, and I'm confident all of you will too. Paul Scott Goodman's score is incredible. I keep humming the songs from Rooms.

Here's a podcast I recorded at MetroStage with the cast. You can hear some of Paul Scott Goodman's score on it. I hope you enjoy it, and I hope you buy tickets to see Rooms at New World Stages. Best of luck to the cast and the producers. I can't wait for press night.

I loved this show in DC and am glad it is making the move. The casting sounds interesting, though I really liked Diaz, which is not always the case. In any case I am looking forward to seeing Kritzer.

What's the reason that was deleted? I also wonder why Natascia Diaz didn't go on with the show to NY.

Celina Carvajal (of LEGALLY BLONDE: The Search for the Next Elle Woods) and Jason Wooten (THE TIMES THEY ARE A-CHANGIN') will be the two standbys for Kritzer and Kreeger.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Has anyone ever used the site 8coupons.com? There's a link up there right now that says if you're one of the first 888 people to text yourself from this site that they'll text you a code good for getting tickets to ROOMS for only $8.00 (select seats, cash only, limit of eight tickets, etc).

Just wondering if I'm setting myself up for a lot of spam if I do it...

ROOMS first preview tonight- I *loved* this show. I am so glad that I got to see what all of you who saw it in D.C. were raving about! Leslie Kritzer was brilliant, if I'd never heard of Natascia Diaz I would've sworn that the role was written for Kritzer- to whoever mentioned it upthread, Kritzer has more than enough diva to pull this role off. The music, the lighting (the I love London bit? genius), everything was great. Show got out slightly after 9:30, but it was a *packed* house and started a little late- people were still being seated at 8pm.

Hope those of you who scored the $8 tix today love it- I missed out on being able to do that. But I am already making plans with two different people to go see ROOMS again.

(oh ps: re the $10 seats. The center row looked completely fine, right in front of the stage, but the stage is not tall. But just fyi the $10 seats on the side (at least on house right, can't speak to house left) you will be pretty much facing a wall, and sitting sideways in order to see the stage.)
