we always knew she would be good. is it clear why she went on, costumes does not seem like a good answer to me...this is Bway not valleyville players. maybe she will be a new understudy.

FosterChild, i agree about Kritzer and the costumes. Figure with Orfeh's spotless attendance, they didn't think they would have to worry for a while. Although none of this is confirmed. I do remember someone talking about watching Amber Efe rehearse for Paulette though, so it's not like she never rehearsed. Even bigger praise goes out to Leslie then...must have been so nerve wracking for her.

And Ruprecht, while I love Orfeh, it was nice to see a different take on it. While Kritzer was amazing, seeing someone else in the role did give me a new appreciation for Orfeh's take on it. That woman has amazing comedic timing.

And I wasn't the only one there. I saw a lot of bww people in the rush seats.

Yes, Ruprecht, that's why I am here. To keep people informed. I thought people would like to hear about it provided it may never happen again. And if you are going to continue making snide comments towards me, at least spell my name right.

Was it ever explained as to why Leslie went on, instead of one of Orfeh's understudies?

As I remember it was early in previews and the costumes were not yet ready for either of Orfeh's understudies. Kritzer went on because she fit into Orfeh's costumes.
