Of course the show stinks. It's got a score by Elton John, among the most banal musical theatre composers ever.

theenchantedhunter, I'm not even going to comment on that.
Anyways, i haven't looked at this thread fro quite some time and was wondering if the show has made radical changed yet. Is it in good condition right now?
Any radical changes? I'm sorry but this so is so wretchedly bad that you'll want to vomit during it. I chose to laugh my as* off during the RIDICULOUS musical numbers and the HORRIBLE HUGH PANARO (Gasp! Did he really say that! watch out the Panaro stalkers are after you) He had no clue who the Vampire Lestat was and was part of the creation of the worst interpretation I have ever seen of the Vampire Chronicles. And Elton John is banal. Just watch Aida, he is 100x's worse in Lestat.
give it time, its going to change, who knows if its going to become more interesting or not. Please do not critique the material until you've seen if it was effective or not LIVE and in person
Too true, Hunter.
/didn't enjoy much after the first five minutes of The Lion King, and sold her Aida cast recording on eBay

Don't forget it is a work in progress. It can still change a lot. The original production of Into the Woods that played at the Old Globe Theatre in California before it made it to broadway is VERY different from what everyone has come to love. Lestat is also still in previews so it could still change before its official opening before changing even more before its Broadway opening. Give it time and keep checking back on it. The story has potential.

The show and the story has a lot of potential and I'm glad that they are continually evolving to try to improve. Granted, it's not the best show ever, but it's not that bad either. I've seen worse. And frankly, I thought it was rather entertaining.

I've seen it, it has no potential and it will bomb on Broadway.
Not ALL reviews will be out tomorrow.
The Contra Costa Times will probably be the most likely since their deadline seems to be later than the Chron's.
Sheesh, I didn't like Lestat and your post was kinda scary. But you did say something very important:
Don't bother trying to defend this show if you haven't seen it.
Yeah, remember that, y'all.
"Don't bother trying to defend this show if you haven't seen it."
and I'll add to that with:
"Don't bother trying to trash this show if you haven't see it"
ya quit talking about how bad it is when you havent seen it...then your just going on rumors...i saw it and loved it so there you go
Who are you talking to, specifically? The people in this thread who haven't seen it have not out-and-out declared Lestat as bad, but they have expressed cynicism based on previous work and what others who HAVE seen it have said.
Love,
Someone who saw it
why would you do that anyway....why should you always think the worst of things
Because if you're cynical, you won't be disappointed.
how did i know you were going to say that
because no one likes someone who is negative ALL the time and you will never be happy if you always think the worst....plus why shouldnt you give people the benefit of the doubt
how did i know you were going to say that
I didn't see a question mark, but I assume this is a question.
Because I am abrasive and predictable. Also, you are the Psychic Lestat Faerie.
Be nice Lizzie.
This IS nice!
um actually it wasnt a question it was retoricle.....and if thats nice i would hate to see you mean....and thanks jimmirae
