Of course the show stinks. It's got a score by Elton John, among the most banal musical theatre composers ever.

Anyways, i haven't looked at this thread fro quite some time and was wondering if the show has made radical changed yet. Is it in good condition right now?

I chose to laugh my as* off during the RIDICULOUS musical numbers and the HORRIBLE HUGH PANARO (Gasp! Did he really say that! watch out the Panaro stalkers are after you) He had no clue who the Vampire Lestat was and was part of the creation of the worst interpretation I have ever seen of the Vampire Chronicles. And Elton John is banal. Just watch Aida, he is 100x's worse in Lestat.

Posted: 1/1/06 at 5:18pmDon't forget it is a work in progress. It can still change a lot. The original production of Into the Woods that played at the Old Globe Theatre in California before it made it to broadway is VERY different from what everyone has come to love. Lestat is also still in previews so it could still change before its official opening before changing even more before its Broadway opening. Give it time and keep checking back on it. The story has potential.

The show and the story has a lot of potential and I'm glad that they are continually evolving to try to improve. Granted, it's not the best show ever, but it's not that bad either. I've seen worse. And frankly, I thought it was rather entertaining.

Not ALL reviews will be out tomorrow. 
The Contra Costa Times will probably be the most likely since their deadline seems to be later than the Chron's.
Sheesh, I didn't like Lestat and your post was kinda scary. But you did say something very important:

Who are you talking to, specifically? The people in this thread who haven't seen it have not out-and-out declared Lestat as bad, but they have expressed cynicism based on previous work and what others who HAVE seen it have said.
