re: 'Lestat' on Broadway

Some people are forgetting that the whole purpose of working a new musical out of town is to develope it in a constructive way letting many ideas and concepts live on stage in an effort to refine the best of the show before brining it to broadway.
Lestat is having the same maturing process and with this creative team in place and
the strength of Warner Bros. and Rob Roth at the helm, I can assure you that Lestat will
be another amazing hit on broadway. And i foresee this show having a long happy life here in new york.

re: 'Lestat' on Broadway

Just wanted to chime in and say that not ALL the reviews have been negative...I found several positive ones from a few Blogs here and there...like this one:

http://www.livejournal.com/users/ozdachs/44893.html#cutid1

and this one...

and this one...

Seems that now that the inital knee jerk negativaty has happened, certain people are actually admitting to liking the show after all. As a HUGE Anne Rice/Vampire Chronicles fan, I am very excited to finally see it in two weeks.

As I said, There is more riding on this show to be a hit than some think. I'm glad!

re: 'Lestat' on Broadway

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess no.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

re: 'Lestat' on Broadway

i love all of you who have such postiviity....if you want to see a show that you will be wanting to speed up the whole time your there then go see thoroughly modern millie...now that show gets old...sorry to all who love it... maybe i just didnt like how upbeat and perky it was i think it was a little to much for me....but everyone who hasnt seen lestat should give it a chance and those of you who have and didnt like it then that fine

re: 'Lestat' on Broadway

I haven't seen "Millie" Just bits and pieces on the Tony's, talk shows, etc. It had a following, but from what I remember suffered after Sutton left.

And I agree, maybe someone will like Lestat, obviously you did. :) I , along with many others did not.

The critics sure tore it up today too. As many of us expected. Hopefulle the creative team will work hard between SF and NYC and make some changes for the better....(Trying hard not to do a wicked for good reference here....) oh well, guess I did.

re: 'Lestat' on Broadway

I had to scroll up to make sure i read it right?
the strength of Rob Roth....
That's a good one
Yes "Beauty" is a mega Hit but more because of the story and the very strong Score and what has Roth done since that?
Read the SF reviews (again) of LeStat and see if there is not a hint the $ (Warner) will not be re-thinking his involvement as $ (Disney) did on AIDA.
Those reviews are disastrious (sic) and they can't really put it off too long and hold on to the Palace.
The Commercial is already running here in NYC so "Something's gotte Give" and soon.
Let's sit back and see who gets replaced first.
HINT: It won't be Newlywed Elton...
P.S.
I haven't seen IT so I am not commenting on the show, just the News and Reviews.

re: 'Lestat' on Broadway

What's in the commercials they're showing in NY, anyway? The only ones I've seen in SF look like Baby's First Adobe Premiere, with no footage from the actual show.
