Light in the Piazza OCR Wide Release

Has anyone who doesn't live in New York bought the Light in the Piazza recording? I live in DC, which one would think is a large theatre town, but have struck out on finding the cast recording in three different large chain record stores (Barnes and Noble, Borders, and Sam Goody's). I'm actually going to Florence (go figure) on Wednesday, and would really like to by the CD before I leave. Anyone with ideas, please share.

i pre ordered mine at my local b&n about 3 weeks ago and was told it would be in on the 24th. i went in on the 24th and they said their computer was now saying they wouldnt have it until june 2nd (which is a thursday...dosent make sense to me either.)

I pre-ordered a copy at Barnes and Noble, and when it didn't come in my wife called Borders and ordered one there to see which came in first. Then, upon hearing stories from the rest of you about it being delayed until June, I overnighted it from Amazon. Worth every penny.

There were problems shipping this release. It didn't arrive in stores on time. I work for Tower in Chicago and we got ours late on Tuesday, but we didn't get our full order. I know we've heard from a lot of customers that they have "tried everywhere" looking for it. It is out there-- I'd ask and ask the store to call you when they get it if they don't have it already.

I live in DC too and couldn't find it at my Barnes and Noble. But I just called Tower Records on Rockville Pike, and the guy I talked to said they have about 4 copies there right now. I hope you have fun in Florence!

I show it in stock at Tower stores nationwide. It might be because unlike Borders & Barnes & Noble, which have a central warehouse all product must go through, Tower is shipped direct by the record companies.

Try your local tower store or www.Tower.com!

I know that a lot of stores are getting them the 31st, in LA anyway...but your best bet is to get it off amazon...it's going to be much more reliable.

The Tower Records in downtown Seattle got their shipment this morning. So happy, since my preorder is still in limbo. I've only been waiting for this to be recorded since seeing rehearsals at the Intiman! And to top it off, I ended up getting Mary Poppins on sale, too!

I ordered mine from B&N yesterday with the Woman in White. The email back said Piazza would ship within 24hrs, but white wouldn't sahip for two days.
Last night I got an email saying White shipped, but Piazza hadn't.....go figure.

and.....I just got an email from B&N saying Piazza is boxed and ready to ship to me, so I should have it Wedns.

YEEHAW!

By the way, it was MIA all over the Upper West Side yesterday. The initial order must've been remarkably small, since Tower never sells out of OBC albums -- they invariably end up in the top ten of sales for the week, prominently displayed on the ground floor, even. I couldn't find it anywhere, not at B&N or Borders. But finally there were many at Virgin (although pricier than Tower).

Sidebar: who knew that this show would generate this kind of response?

Auggie, isn't it exciting? I love that this CD is selling well.

By the way, it can picked up in Los Angeles at Amoeba Records on Sunset.
