1 part actor + 1 part web designer = LimeLightNYC.

here's the lowdown...

"This site was created out of one actor/web designer's frustration over the ridiculously high pricing of putting ones headshot and resume online.

Not only do you want to establish your presence on the net...but you want it to look pretty damn slick in the process. So, here we are...an actor working with actors to make actors happy.

Now if we could just get the government to think that way."

So, if you're interested in getting your face out there for casting people as well as audiences...check it out.

You realize, of course, that some are going to see your prices and still think it's too steep. I can't count the number of actors and musicians who come to me looking for free work. Then there are the ones who don't even ASK me what I charge because they just ASSUME it's too much. I'm open to negotiation, but do they know that? Nope.

The bad actor Web sites you mention weren't the ones paid $900 for. They're the ones the actors tried to do themselves with FrontPage and clipart.

Nice to see some actual intelligent competition out there. Send clients my way if you get swamped and I'll match your prices.

Don't get all bent out of shape.

There's nothing in the guidelines about it...and I'm just trying to lend a hand to fellow actors out there.

No harm, no foul.
