It's been a while since I've read the books, but I don't recall Lee Scoresby being all that big a role. Even if it is terrible casting (and I admit I think it's questionable), I doubt it would have much of an effect on the project.

Lin is totally miscast in this role but that doesn't stop me from being EXTREMELY excited about this project.

Even more exciting is the casting of Dafne Keen! She was a breakout revelation in the film LOGAN ( ( nominated for Oscar Best Adapted Screenplay) - practically stealing the spotlight from Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart who were already both outstanding in their portrayals.
