This is more or less my feeling. I thought this was a terrible production of a great play. They aren’t receiving any design nominations, and if any performance is honored it’s Cheadle’s (but probably not)

I think I enjoyed this a bit more downtown because it had more space to breathe. But with that being said, I had an absolute BLAST seeing it again and I was grinning ear to ear the whole time. I can’t believe it, but I actually got choked up once or twice. Just pure queer joy on Broadway, what more could we ask for? Such a welcome balm in these troubled times.

The cast is amazing and I want to shout out Emma Sofia who plays Skimbleshanks. I find her to have such a magne

An amazing amount of energy and talent on that stage.

 

But if you are over 5’2 or have any neck issues, be warned: these seats and the way they are set up are a modern form of torture. Luckily it wasn’t sold out and quite a few of us were able to spread out but if I was stuck next to the guy who was literally a third of the way into my seat and personal space I probably would have walked out, it was that uncomfortable. I’m glad I was able to move but
