This woman has an amazing voice! I just bought her CD "Broadway My Way" and it is phenominal! Her rendition of 'Man of La Mancha' is great! And I also am excited to see her next show 'Camille Claudel'! I heard 'Gold' on her CD and I love it because everyone can relate to it, I mean who hasn't had something so great and then lost it
. But anyway back to Linda Eder, I found it interesting that she has only been in Jekyll and Hyde on Broadway and has done one concert at the Gershwin.

Posted: 9/6/04 at 12:56amShe's got a great voice for some things. It reminds me of Barbra Streisand, her idol. Her vibratto tends to aggravate me at times though.

Posted: 9/6/04 at 1:01amI agree about the vibrato. I have to say, I love when she sings softly or without a belt. It's just so gentle and pretty!

Posted: 9/6/04 at 6:06pmLinda's done more than one concert! I saw here twice here in Denverin concert and also in J&H before it hit B'way. Love her but I wish she would stop re-recording songs. I like the song Gold but don't need it on 2 of her CD's! Her live version of "Don't Rain on My Parade" will take your breath away!

Posted: 9/6/04 at 6:20pmI still get so confused with the whole "she doesn't have expression/warmth" thing. Linda herself has said probably 3 of the 5 times I've seen her in concert that she doesn't understand why she has been called a "broadway leading lady." She admitted that she has never had an acting or singing lesson her entire life. When I met her, she was one of the kindest, most humble, down to earth people I have ever come into contact with. During her concerts, you notice her great personality and warmth as well. I think for someone who is self-taught in her singing and performing, she is pretty damn amazing.

Posted: 9/6/04 at 6:30pmI ADORE her version of "I Am What I Am" From "La Cage". She shows how universal that song is! Also love "Vienna" and her version of "Bridge over Troubled Water". My good friend got me interested in her.

Posted: 9/6/04 at 6:33pmShe was like, "Leading lady? I've only been in one show. Didn't somebody check?" She's so unbelievable and will be the last to admit it.

Well said Elvis
Being someone introduced to her recently, I'm blown away. "Vienna" is amazing, and her rendition of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" is WONDERFUL. Glad that person introduced me to her

Posted: 9/6/04 at 6:42pmI always hear her feeling when she sings live. She always has that "cry" sound at the end of long notes. Seeing her sing her song "Vienna" live... her feeling in that is unbelievable. Also during her encore concert song, "If I Had My Way" she almost always cries.

Posted: 9/6/04 at 6:45pmall the times i've seen her sing ( and i remember her from the get-go on Star Search) i've always felt her eyes saying "look what i can do" and nothing more... but again, a fantastic voice!

Posted: 9/6/04 at 6:47pmThat's so funny... cuz she is the opposite of that. Everyone I have talked to that has worked with her says that she has no idea how good she is. That she is incredibly humble.
#20re: Linda Eder
Posted: 9/6/04 at 6:51pmand that may be her issue... if she realized how good she is (and she most DEFINITELY is beyond good), she can get past the technical excellence and work on acting her lyrics and let her voice do what it does best...

Posted: 9/6/04 at 6:59pmI don't really like her version of "Unusual Way." It's far too melodramatic.

Well, I am suprised no one even mentioned my name as waiting for me to make a comment.
She is the most incredible talented loving and kind person in the whole wide world.
I hate to say this but many felt that Frank held her back when it came to her cracking into other things and being less famous then she could be.
And she did a whole week of concerts at the Gershwin and she has also played Carneige Hall. She is one of the best talents and will always be the one and only LINDA. I love her.
