After 54 years, Leonard Bernstein's musical version of PETER PAN shall have a new recording! Starring the lovely voice of Linda Eder as 'Wendy.'
Jean Arthur and Boris Karloff had a recording of the musical in 1951. The show hasn't been produced again since 1954.
GREAT NEWS!!!

I am so excited I think I will pee. Damn too late.
you have no idea how much I have wanted a new Linda CD. She should be required to put one out twice a year just so I dont have to stress over not listening to her. I have EVERY Cd and I have the cd remix's of some of her other stuff.
Did i say how much I love her?
which one was the Bernstein one, again? which one was "Dream With Me" in? is the Bernstein one the one with "Dream With Me"? damn that studio CD...
I discovered her when she sang "Vienna" on ROSIE. My God! Rosie has changed my life in countless ways!
Linda Eder as "Wendy?" That is the wierdest casting I have ever heard - even for a recording.
YAY I love linda! Two cds this year to work on. Good for her!
BoxofficeJon, I loved the peeing comment...quite funny, something I'd want to say, but wouldn't for fear of offending...nice job...hehe, I enjoy Ms. Eder myself

How is this version of peter pan? I have never heard of it before
I admit I have never heard it. The CD is out of print. Has been for a long time. It's found on LP on eBay frequently.
It's been said the production failed to a point, because Jean Arthur couldn't sing.

Why is she playing Wendy? She has a beautiful voice, no doubt (I have several CDs) but Wendy's a little girl.

It is the recording with such classic songs like "Peter, Peter", "I will build you a house" and "Who am I". "Dream with me" was a trunk song of it as preserved on "The Musical Adventures of Peter Pan". Yes, something looking forward to as the original recording was of poor quality and uninspired orchestrations.
The good thing about recordings, is actors too old for the part can play almost any age, as long as their voice still fits the role.
