Posted: 11/11/03 at 4:46pmI think that Donna's abscence will have no major effect on the show. I'm very excited for Linda and hope she does well.

Linda has been in Nine, Into the Woods, Kiss Me Kate, and On the Town, and she has understudied major roles in all of those shows.
I'm not going to be able to write a full review because I'm in a hurry, but she was absolutely amazing. She only had two days of rehearsal, but she looked like she'd been playing the part from the beginning. She has great comic timing and a powerhouse voice that brought the house down, particularly during One Hundred Easy Ways and Swing. The audience fell in love with her right away, and she got nice entrance applause and a standing ovation at the end.
If you can see Linda as Ruth, definitely do. If not, her regular role (Violet) also gives her some interesting things to do!

Saw it last night.
What a dumb show. Really. I was so excited to see this Bernstein/Comden/Green piece and, since I've seen Ms. Muggelston in other things, I was excited to see her Ruth.
Heavens what a disappointment. I've been out sick for a couple of days, so I can't really write a long review (swamped at work), but it's a not-great show with a woefully small cast.
I mean...FIVE PEOPLE LIVE ON CHRISTOPHER STREET???
