The Lion King is opening a lottery! (Digital, too)
The show’s digital lottery will work like this: entries will be accepted at lionking.com/lottery starting the day before a performance (the time will vary), and until 9 a.m. the day of the performance. Winners will be notified immediately and will have one hour to pay online.
The tickets will be available only for pickup by people presenting identification in the final 30 minutes before the performance begins. This is a low-tech anti-scalping effort, similar to that being used by the nonprofit New York Theater Workshop (which has several much-in-demand shows upcoming), with the hope being that reducing the time window for resale will cut down on scalping.

I had no intention of seeing this show again but seeing as there's now a lottery, it would be nice to revisit it.
Has anyone won? Where were the seats located?

I won, the seats were in rear of the mezz level (second to last row).
I won the first week. Seats were mezz row K. The box office said around 20 tickets are given out for the lotto but it can vary based on availability.
I won last row orchestra. Really great deal. I hadn't seen the show in years (and I've seen it a bunch). Those actors are really still putting on a fantastic show.

I got rear Mezz-four from the back.
More leg room in the Minskoff than most-which is good and bad.
The back of the Mezz (and Orch) is a little further away .
