Lion King Tix Question

Okay, friends, we're comin' in from the sticks next Thursday and Friday (the 16th and 17th) to get entertained. The "sticks" refers to Oklahoma, and the "we" in "we're" refers to me, a 52-year-old dad, and my Broadway-loving 13-year-old daughter.
Like many theater-goers in recent years, at the top of our list is "The Lion King", but the broker prices are beyond us. I'm just wondering if there is any real chance face-value or discounted tickets would become available through TKTS or some other source. I suspect an "in your dreams" answer awaits me, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask the experts here!
By the way, we're also considering catching the preview of "Wicked" starring a young lady who grew up a few miles from me, Kristin Chenoweth. Is the buzz still strong on this one?
Thanks, in advance, for the input guys!

"the sets and costumes in "Lion King" is amazing but the show itself lacks"
yea I have the same feeling about that show it's the only show I have seen that I really just didn't like. But I would also try TKTS I have seen tickets there for the show 2 saterdays ago when I walked by.

Thank you, WhatDo and PennyLou, for your advice. We will not abandon all hope to see "Lion King", we will keep "Wicked" near the top of our "let's consider this one" list, and we will carefully check TKTS.
I knew you guys would come through!

Definfately catch Wicked...
The buzz is that it's going to be one of the great of this season with serious ptoential for walking off with an array of Tonys.
