They are full price from what I can see with a booking fee. The TKTS is now a full price ticket agent for 99% of West End shows. The 2 ** next to it indicate full price!
I saw this yesterday whilst walking back from the Palladium to the National Gallery, via Leicester Square, I saw this advertised on the board and was going to put a thread up but forgot to.
As Mama says its a full price show, like a handful of others, I am glad The Lion King King is using TKTS, this is very good as any other revenue streams TKTS receive will ensure its future operation and if there is a dip in punters going to The Lion King then this must indicate they are willing to use TKTS which is excellent.
The Lion King not being available on TKTS in both London and New York demonstrates how much of a great show this is, I hope it has broken even at last?
If a show sells itself at full price at the TKTS booth it should in no way be seen as if the show is no longer selling. The new full ticket service that is now at the booth is just there as its run by the Society Of London Theatres and its just another added outlet for their clients to gain extra valuable sales. Surveys have shown that tourists will not make the effort to walk to a theatre to buy tickets if it is 10 feet out of their way so to have all West End theatre tickets in the very heat of the West End is something amazing!
What you have said, I did not know, I can see the reasoning behind your comment.
I have purchased a full price ticket on the internet myself + booking fee and I live in London, I have to travel from Baker Street to London Bridge, Victoria or Charing Cross to get home, how much out of the way would it be for me to go to the box office, not much! So a tourist in London who does not know the city would really not go out of there way somewhere they don't know.
So can really understand where you are coming from Mama. However have learned my lesson by booking by internet now, unless a special offer is available.
lion king is very rarely on there like some other things ! would not pay £55 a ticket for lion king at moe cause im not a fan saw it once and thats enough for me
Lion King still doesn't give its house staff company discounts, let alone discounting to punters. And even now I have no idea why the hell it keeps selling out - the cast get sick of it after a month and even when they're fresh the show is still BORING.
