For those who missed the extraordinary two night only "staged reading" (quotes are because it seemed like a full production) of Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party by Musical Theatre Guild last year and for those who were wowed by The Blank's sure to be award-winning production of Michael John LaChiusa's TWP at the Hudson earlier this year and want to see "the other Party," here is some great news!
DOMA Theater Company is peforming Lippa's TWP at the Met Theater in Los Angeles opening June 2!

Performance Dates: June 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, & 18, 2006

Does this company usually put on good productions?

If the Burrs is good, the show will be enjoyed by most critics. He's the pace setter.
Best of luck.....

I wish I lived near Los Angeles
may have to make my LA trip before this is over! Love the score, but would really like to see the show. Disneyland and The Wild Party here I come (hopefully)!
Cheers,
Christopher
One other bit of info:
The lead actress is a Glendale College student, who just appeared there in Hair, as are many of the other cast members...

And evidently one of their parents has a large checkbook.
I'm going to take a wait and see attitude. The material is so powerful, and the chance to see the show so rare, that for me at least it's worth a visit. There's lots of young talent in L.A., so who knows--it could turn out to be quite a good production.

I will be there as well, it really is one of the finest scores in the last 10 years....and drastically overlooked by many...
Should be a fun night.
