Hey guys!!! First of all let me introduce myself as a huge Wicked fan and if anyone ever wants to chat or swap video clips or pics def. IM me... gabbi416. Second... My friends and I are starting a new fanclub online. It's for Lisa Brescia (Amneris in Aida). It's called Polished Gems and the link is www.polishedgems.net There isn't anyhting there yet but we're going to start working on it soon! There is also going to be a message board, pics, a "dress up Amneris" game and it's also going to be a general braodway site about recent news and upcoming shows. We definetly need support so if you can IM me or e-mail me if you're interested, gabbi416@aol.com that would be great. It'll be a really great site once it's done, but we're jsut hoping that other broadway fans will be interested!!1 Let me know!!!
Lisa is so nice. My friends and I saw the show a few weeks ago but we had really crappy seats all the way up in the balcony. Everyone looked like ants but we still loved the show.
Anyhoo, we waited at stage door and when Lisa came out, we didn't recognize her. She came right up to us and started asking us if we liked the show and stayed with us for a good ten minutes. It wasn't until she left that we knew who she was from her signature. Totally embarrasing that we didn't realize it was her but what a sweetheart! And a great, great voice. :P

Still a little bit of you laced with my doubt. Still a little hard to say what's going on..." Damien Rice
I can certainly say that Lisa made fans the day I went to see Aida. Her performance was incredible. She has an amazing voice. She completely won me over when I met her at the stage door. She was so incredibly nice and sweet. There were a ton of people at the door but she took time to talk with everyone. Unlike some people, she actually expressed interest in what my cousin and I were saying and took a picture with me. What made it so important in my mind is that my cousin, who likes theatre but never gets to come, said that she would definitely make time to see a show with Lisa. She knows the best way to get people to come and see her perform: By delivering a quality performance and treating the theatre-goers with respect.
Lisa is SUCH a sweetie!!! When I saw AIDA a few months ago, we waited by the stage door and everyone had left except her. She comes out about a half hour later and apologizes, saying there were people being given a backjstage tour and she was talking to them. We forgave her of course, and I told her how I hadn't thought ANYONE could live up to Sherie, but that she had blown me away! She smiled real big and goes, "yeah, those are some big shoes to fill! I'm glad you enjoyed the show," and she gave me a big hug =) One of my favorite stage door experiences!!!
