I mentioned TARZAN in the blurb in the beginning of the first post along with THE WEDDING SINGER, since most of us are aware that both shows open in a couple of months.

I have always thought Ever After would transfer well to the stage. The film is beautiful and one of my personal faves.
I am also still waiting for someone to see the perfection of musicalizing Pocketfull of Miracles.

Can't wait for Sister Act and Legally Blonde! And WHEN will someone see the HUGE musical potential in Ferris Bueller's Day Off?

I agree Princess Bride would be great. i'm excited to hear more about First Wives Club, and Everafter, all of these movie turned musicals sound like they have such potential! i'm getting way too excited over this re: List of Upcoming Movie-turned-Musicals

So was the whole thing about there being a Clueless musical in the works not true?

your gonna laugh, but i always thought nightmare on elm st. would make a good musical

Sister Act cries out to be a musical, and should be fun.
I also like the idea of Young Frankenstein, if they get a cast with the right blend of lunacy and competence.
I don't think the video of the Lord of the Ring rehearsals in Toronto did it any favors.
I can't imagine Get Shorty as a musical. I can't say I particularly cared for it as a film, either.

High Fidelity supposedly is supposed to begin this fall, someone mentioned rehearsals begin in august and there was a recent EPA call for it. There is a rumor that the pre-bwy engagement will take place this fall in San Francisco.'

As for Legally Blonde and Catch Me If You can, I believe they are still undergoing work as Catch Me If you can had a fairly recent reading with full orchestra. Legally Blonde will have a workshop from April 24th-May 28th

Soap Dish is one of the greatest movies.

I REALLY want Kristin Chenoweth to be Elle Woods, but the whole prospect of this movie-turned-musical really weird.

Half the cast of Clueless is doing Broadway right now anyway! Paul Rudd, Jeremy Sisto, Wallace Shawn... Maybe they do lunch together on matinee days!
