I WAS new here, but I guess I'm an old member...but I guess I'm really not. Anyway, I'm apologzing for posting stupid questions on the board. I have got to think next time I post. I feel a bit awkward and embarassed, now that I read that whole thing with BroadwayMatt.

Anyone wanna guess how old I am?

12. That's right. 12 years old. It's strange for kids my age in my town to like theatre, although there are a few involved. Moving off the subject...sorry about that. I'm just trying to say I wanted to give this a chance, and I thought it would be fun to do, since this is a really cool B-way community. You guys are all so nice and really cool people. And now...I will drown out myself with Tommy music...

That was a pretty smart and honest post for a 12 year old, or even, a 22 or 32 or 42 year old. Smiles.

I don't remember you at all, but I wanted to thank you for being able to spell and construct sentences better than many people twice your age.

That was a VERY mature thing to do! The majority of the idiots on this site, who are MUCH older than you, would have NEVER done that! Btw, of the threads that I read of yours, I never thought they were stuped. I remember going back to a few of them! :)

lol lizzy!

gav: there's no need to apologize though i agree with everyone that it's a sign of maturity to reflect on yourself this way. take it easy on the comments on the board, it's just going to be nice one day and vicious the next. also helps if you read most of the posts through the 2nd page so you know what questions are already being answered and such...

enjoy your time here!

EDIT: okay i just checked back to the "broadwaymatt" thread of yours and i realized i probably sounded mean to you but if you start a thread here it should usually be to ask the board for opinions instead of asking them to NOT say something...just some now friendly advice lol re: Listen everyone..

Don't sweat it. I'm 12 too and I always feel I may make a stupid posts because of my age and my little knowledge of theatre. And it's also awkward for a kid my age to be interested in theatre anywhere in the area where I live so it's hard to do stuff without being mocked becuase of it.

Just for the record, I'm also sorry if I put up any stupid posts because it makes me feel delinquent and plus may come back to haunt me later.

I'm amused at the fact that both 12-year-olds appear so mature and intelligent in this thread -- not because I think most 12-year-olds are dumb, but the compare-and-contrast quotient is pretty entertaining.

Please, do keep it up.

Thanks everyone for the understanding! I'm not actually suprised that I get the "mature" and "wow" comments from everyone. It happens all the time, it's pretty much normal. (Is anyone suprised now?) I think I feel happier...and I think it's because I watched Broadway:The American Musical (The RENT,9/11, and Wicked parts) on the local channel that usually shows it here. I have tickets to the tour of Wicked, and from seeing those amazing clips, it makes me want to go RIGHT now. Okay, off subject. (Slaps self) All right. It's time to get off this computer! Bye everyone!

gaverocegirl-What is your icon? What does it say?

I'm back...I've been surfing the net, and wanted to answer your question, FosseBoi. The icon is really neat, at least I think it is. It's a beat up teddy bear, and on the top it has a quote from Timothy McVeigh:

"The day-care center. If I would have known it was there, I would have shifted the target."

That is the postcard of Collateral Damage, a US Premiere of a powerful play about the Oklahoma City bombing, which I got to see last weekend. It's very good, and if it ever gets out there in the US, go see it. It's great, and will make you think about the bombing more than you did, or if never did, it'll make you think about it.

EDIT: As some of you can see, I have changed my icon. See the guy in the picture? He's in Collateral Damage, and his name is Brandon. He's my one of my best actor friends in the whole world. He introduced me to Monty Python. He's a great guy. Once, when I said something I shouldn't have to a couple of the cast members (I said it in the wrong context), he understood and patched it up. What a guy. Anyway, just giving everyone a quick update!

I'm 16, but I have liked theatre since I was about 6 years old. I know what its liked to be mocked due to an interest in theatre. Not fun. I had the hardest time at school from about 6th grade until this year. Things get better when your peers grow up and learn to accept people for their differences.

Both of you 12 year olds do sound very mature. I applaud you for posting on the message board! You are making the extra effort to learn all you can about the wonderful world of show business! Don't be afraid to post things because you fear they will be "dumb!"

Hah. I feel like SUCH a hypocrite- I never post. Ah well.

Being 12 doesn't automatically make you immature, and being older doesn't automatically make you wiser.

I didn't read the original broadwaymatt thread or whatever that started this thread...so I'm confused, but I just wanted to throw in the above thought.
