"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Thanks! Listening right now.

"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife

Do you have to sign up? I don't see the podcast on that page.

I actually didn't think it was that exciting. I was hoping for music clips or something. Nothing truly insightful.

Eh, it was cool to hear them talk about the process and what they like about it and how it's different from the movie, etc. but yeah, would've been nice if they gave a little preview of a song or something. Oh well, thanks CapnHook.

I didn't have to sign in or anything. I agree, though, I wish they gave us a few clips.

Agreed. The "tease" in the beginning was nice. I wonder if that is an overture or the score to one of the songs...
