Another one for The Great Gatsby! That was the first book that popped into my head!
... So when do we get Flowers in the Attic: The Musical?? Hah.
How about "The Joy Luck Club" by Amy Tan or "The Accidental Tourist" by Anne Tyler?

Yet another vote for Gatsby.
And if it was composed by Adam Guettel, it'd knock one right out of the park.

I'm sorry, bwaylvsong. Perhaps we could combine the two shows. The Puritans can tap giddily while burning the Macbeth Dancing Witches.
I don't know if it's been done but "Of Mice and Men" i think would make a spectacular and almost dark kind of musical.
I agree that Pride and Prejudice should be done...but only if done right. Maybe someone like Adam Guettel could write a beautifully romantic score, like Piazza. I could see some cute dance sequences that highlight the dances of Regency time, with the ladies in their beautiful regency dresses......ok, i'll just make this production on my own.
