Little Island Unveils 2025 Summer Season
I've never been before - any tips on buying tickets, and fun things to do before/after the shows?
These 3 caught my eye:
The Tune Up, a new piece by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award–winner Suzan-Lori Parks, directed by Niegel Smith;
the world premiere of a brand-new adaptation of John Gay’s watershed comic opera, The Beggar’s Opera, reuniting the team behind last season’s smash hit The Marriage of Figaro — director Dustin Wills and composer/arranger Dan Schlosberg
New York’s first listen to Sarah Gancher’s bluegrass adaptation of Tchaikovsky’s opera Eugene Onegin, directed by Rachel Chavkin
It's a super fun space, and that's a great selection you have your eye on!
Definitely bring water. Esp if it's hot out, there really isn't a lot of shade. And they do have food/bev concessions though I don't know how particular they are about bringing them into the show.
If it *is* nice, taking a stroll along the water nearby is one of my favorite things to do (either before or after.) The ARTECHOUSE attraction is a short walk away and usually has something cool on view + they do discounts for locals and students. And then you're right inside of Chelsea Market for a bite or a wander.
Have fun and let us know how you enjoy!
