Roundabout 26-27 Season: The Full Monty, The Heart, & More
 Apr 16 2026, 05:10:34 PM

Adding to the cheers for what, on paper, is a marvelous season.

I feel that Bill Irwin and Ruben Santiago-Hudson are two of our greatest actors - and the latter + Kara Young has me *sat*.

So glad that the Monty revival that I think has been rumored for a good lone while has a prime, not too large house. Eager to see casting.

And per IBDB, the Circle in the Square production of Rocky Horror ran for a little over two years (even coming

OH, MARY Reviews (2026 New)

Caught last night's 6:30pm evening performance - having seen this cast in their first week and finding all quite great, last night everyone was *next level* fantastic.

A lot has been written about which performer makes Mary their own (and I credit Cole Escola's writing, that it affords that amount of interpretation to the people who don the bratty curls) - but JCM has created a gloriously demented, Norma Desmond but more campily desperate for a dream out of the role.

Next to Normal Broadway Transfer Fall 2026
 Apr 11 2026, 03:33:09 PM

Very good and interesting points all around; one could equally argue that any and all press around Caissie during award season would generate some nice momentum for her leading the new NTN production / juice Ragtime sales for her 'final weeks'.

However it works out, I do hope that this materializes; the original Broadway cast remains etched in my memory -- and I was very fortunate to see the very much missed Marin Mazzie giving an *

Re, timing ---- and this speculation is just an educated guess, not based on fact --- if it is indeed Caissie leading (as I also very much hope is the case), they'd wait until just around / right after the Tonys, to keep focus on her Ragtime performance. I could also see the production having an extended run like South Pacific if it does well.

In terms of venue, I haven't a clue; the Schoenfeld and Golden would be great, but both&

MOULIN ROUGE! Broadway Casting Thread
 Apr 1 2026, 06:52:44 PM

Having experienced a very similar thing about a year ago, it is *very* scary. Am so, so glad she's okay, as I feel like she's brilliant casting and have no doubt she's giving it her all. Has anyone seen one of her performances? (Am looking at weekday tickets toward the end of the month, which still have reasonable prices.)

They tend to go somewhat quickly, but both Fear of 13 and Death of a Salesman have been up; Maybe Happy Ending, often with performances where Darren Criss is out (which they note upfront). I haven't seen Proof though I very well may be wrong. Do keep checking as often as is convenient - I feel like we're entering the packed part of the season where shows will be looking to have full houses, even at a discount, in p

Vampire Musical Memories - Anyone Else See Dracula, Lestat & Dance Of the Vampires?
 Mar 30 2026, 05:34:46 PM

Having also seen all three, I echo lots of the thoughts on this thread. Mine $0.02 ---

Dance of the Vampires --- it's as wild as anything you'd read. The physical production alone was incredible. It was the tone that couldn't figure itself out, and Crawford trying his best to not-be-the-Phantom was valiant in a way, though he looked like Vegas Wayne Newton giving Vampire in that costume. Supporting cast was a luxury of riches, though - Mandy Gonzalez, Max

Giant Partial View Orchestra
 Mar 27 2026, 04:57:25 PM

Echoing an earlier poster - I believe every theatre holds a limited number of seats off-sale to the public for differently abled guests who need an accommodation to best enjoy the show. (An extremely kind box office attendant at the Broadhurst way back when Hugh Jackman had his residency there pointed me towards them when I explained they were for my own mobility-challenged grandparents, which were full-view, far side Orchestra aisle about halfway back.)

Definitely either call Telechar

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 3/22/26
 Mar 24 2026, 04:16:24 PM

Re, Salesman - they do seem to be pricing the Winter Garden very thoughtfully / taking advantage of the large house to offer a solid range of ticket rates. I went to a weekday evening performance the 2nd week of previews and the very friendly box office attendant offered two full-view seats Orch H 13-15 (which were indeed a great view) for $109 each. And their Student Group ticketing is quite lovely to see. (I'm in the camp that found this production quite outstanding a

DEATH OF A SALESMAN 2026 Previews
 Mar 7 2026, 04:57:04 PM

Thanks to all for the first preview reports --- it sounds like it's starting from a great place and only going to get better. I thought the Brian Dennehy production was definitive (and it'll always sit rock solid in my theatergoing memory) but this sounds like a more than worthy rendition as well.

I believe I recall reading that Lane and Metcalf are known for starting rehearsals essentially off-book / lines memorized so they can really dig in during the rehearsal process.&

Am hoping to catch this at some point next week --- this little tidbit in New York magazine's spring theatre highlights has me quite intrigued - it's a minor one, but dropping into the Spoiler box just in case anyone prefers going in totally cold:

Broadway Real Estate

A few key things stand out to me here:

- The play really isn't an adaptation of the (I lost count of how many, LOL) films in the franchise - it's very much 'in the spirit of', mainly the vibes of the first one. But you don't have to have seen any of the Paranormal Activity films at all to enjoy the play, IMO.

- I feel like the secret sauce here is that it's Levi Holloway collaborating with Felix Barrett of Punchdrunk, who brings&n

I certainly think so. The stage is tall enough and wide enough IMO and it's (an objectively gorgeous) unit set of four rooms over two-stories. It'd be a luxury get for the show if they landed that theater as I could totally see even the further back of the Mezz getting jolted by the illusions. Hoping that it happens!

Also throw Paranormal Activity into the mix - one post on a DC review thread I was part of mentioned it was coming in around the same time that Mirvish put up they'd be hosting a tour stop on social, then quickly took it down. (Toronto is close enough to NY that I could see them pulling regional rights.) Considering the great reviews / word of mouth / the commercial producers attached, I could def see it - just have no idea where, as the show IMO has more impact the mor

March trip - what do I need to get in advance?
 Feb 8 2026, 02:30:32 PM

Personal opinion, but I really don't see there being a bad seat in the Beaumont for Ragtime - the set pieces are wide and minimalist to a degree (without spoiling one or two surprising moments) and from my spot in the Orchestra 400s on the far side, I didn't miss a thing. The performers / staging certainly plays to the whole house.

Also IMO - if all you can find are extreme sides in the Orch, I actually sorta prefer the Front Loge for many LCT shows.&nb

OH, MARY Reviews (2026 New)

Took friends who hadn't yet seen it last night and we had a blast.

Echoing the sentiments thus far- JCM goes from 0 to 100 MPH from the start. There were laughs and deliveries of lines that I hadn't caught before --- this Mary is very much how her husband describes her early on as an agent of total chaos and it gives everyone's actions extra urgency. And (mild spoiler) JCM's descent from the desk was *fantastic* and rivals Betty Gilpin's, who remains my favorite. Th

March trip - what do I need to get in advance?
 Feb 7 2026, 05:29:51 PM

IMO - you don't need to book much in advance (though everything on your list is outstanding.)

For Spelling Bee and Heathers --- the digital rush on Telecharge's Lottery site is a great deal and I've seen both from excellent seats, if you end up having a free night. (Frankly, do try to keep a night or afternoon open for something you can snag a deal on via lottery / TodayTix rush / TDF.)

Keep an eye on Oh, Mary!&n

The Muppet Show (2026-) Dream Broadway Guest Stars

Ooooo, I adore this thread. (And based on how magical the one-off was this week, I *really* hope it gets picked up, haven't seen any ratings or streaming #'s yet.)

Echo all of the previously mentioned folks - some dream casting of my own:

- Sir Ian McKellan having a Shakespeare-off with Uncle Deadly would be the stuff of dreams, as well as a diva-duel with Miss Piggy. (This is also likely my still being *shook* by that monologue he did on Colbert the other evenin
