No offense to anyone of Jodi Benson's age (from which I am not too far myself)...
But a 45-year-old Ariel? You must be joking.

greeneyed_one: he most certainly would be a brilliant Eric. But I want him as Westley more. Roll on 'Princess Bride'!
Also roll on 'Little Mermaid'. I hope both these shows are around at the same time, I would full-on blow my life-savings on a trip to NY if I could see both these shows in one trip.

I still think Jessica Grove would be an adorable Ariel!! What has happened to her? I thought she was the cutest thing in "Millie".
A little OT, but....did anyone see her in "The Boyfriend?"

I said this on the "perfect roles for stars" thread a little while back, but I'll say it again:
Katharine McPhee as Ariel
She has a great, rich, musical theater quality to her voice, and I heard she did lots of community and regional thater in college and whatnot. Not saying that she is the absolute, perfect, must-be-Ariel, but I think it's a cool idea.
Don't kill me, I'm just throwing it out there
