Ali Ewoldt said so herself.
The Gavroche song does not appear in the rest of the show: I actually don’t know anything about its origins, but it seems closer to the intention of the novel. I’m not sure if I mentioned this before, but the actual “Little People” section of his solo is cut, so it also wouldn’t make sense to have a reprise.

Then the chorus for that was dropped, which I guess is what she was talking about. When she wrote that blog I assumed that the entire section was gone.
And then he sings the "Ten Little Bullets" business when he goes to get the ammo.

Me too, I thought this was gonna be about the strange phenom of so many dwarfs and midgets recently attending Broadway shows.
"Dwarfs (or dwarves, both spellings are acceptable) are very upsetting"
