Haven't seen many posts here about Little Shop of Horrors here....has anyone seen it? Comments? I saw it once in January with Hunter Foster (AMAZING) and I saw it tonight with Joey Fatone and Jessica Snow Wilson. Loved Joey...he was SO FUNNY. But I dont think Snow pulled off the Audrey role as well as...I CANT REMEMBER HER NAME!!! who was in the role before her. Gorgeous singing voice though. And Crystal/Chiffon/Roxy were GREATTTT!!! I liked it alot.
I saw the show in March with Hunter and I loved it. I listened to the OCR nonstop for about two months. :) I've heard good things about Joey, I might end up seeing him next month, we'll see. You liked him? What about Rob Evans as Orin?
I saw the show last weekend, and I loved it! I did not see Kerry Butler originally, so I can't compare Jessica to her. Joey REALLY surprised me, tho! The whole show did, in fact. That plant was absolutely amazing....would go again just to watch it. All in all, a very enjoyable performance!!
It's a really fun show. Nothing to write home about, but just a lot of fun. I LOVED Hunter and Kerry, and honestly, I'm a bit scared of Joey. But being objective, go see it. You'll laugh a lot and have a good time.
Kerry Butler and Ronette, Thank you!! Kerry Butler was more impressive in my opinion. Joey was reallyyyy good. He had a really powerful voice (which NSync never let you hear)and he had amazing comic delivery...soooo funny. I was impressed. Rob Evans had this southern twang as the dentist which was weird at first, but then it made him into such a funny character. He goes on to play a bunch of once scene characters, all back to back, and its hysterical (not a spoiler because its listed next to his name in the playbill). Rob Evans was the first principal out of the stage door and he was great about signing things. He took his time with everyone and seemed really happy people enjoyed themselves. The girls were the same way, they came out and were so nice and excited to see everyone. They stayed out the longest, too. Poor Jessica, she came out next-to-last and everyone was so preoccupied getting playbills signed by the others that no one cheered when she came out, and she looked soooo shy. Joey signed and posed (got an autograph but no picture), going down the row as quick as possible and then jumped into the car waiting for him. Kind of annoying, but what I expected.
I didnt really like Kerry Butler. Maybe I was subconsciously comparing her to Ellen Greene, who was amazing in that part and no one will ever be able to be better than her.
I just saw the show the other day for the first time without Kerry in it and I have to say that while Jessica Snow has a lovely sing voice, during Somewhere that's green she seemed to almost be yelling it rather then singing the rest of the show her sing voice was lovely. I didn't care for her characterization so much but maybe it is a work in progress. I thought Joey was great, he brought some cute things to the role, I enjoyed his performance.

I have never been impressed by Jessica Snow-Wilson. Never. I can't really put my finger on it, but she's always seemed somewhat unoriginal. I just feel like she's not really making the push to expand her character. But Little Shop is sooooo much fun, so I think her addition is fine.
Remember, Joey ****ed up the words to the denstist song a while back. "Now. . .do it now. . just a pressure of trigger . ub . dub. .ib . . and audrey won't have . ."

now there's a worthy post. I came out of Little Shop singing praise to Douglass Sills (that was my first time seeing him) - what an amazing performer

You probably know this already, but he's on the OBCR of the Scarlet Pimpernel. He does the best/funniest Sir Percy I have ever heard! If you don't already own it, go out and buy it. Now. NOW I SAY! RUN!
