Posted: 8/25/04 at 9:28amDid you just bash a show that hasn't even had its out of town tryout yet, let alone its first preview on Broadway? For the love of God......

Posted: 8/25/04 at 9:37amNot shilling for it, not even slightly, just taken aback that you're starting negative buzz THIS early on, that's all.

did i START neg buzz? I'm not the one who heard a sample and did not have the ear for the music. Hey..it's got an excellent cast. Dunno if I would pay top $ to see it..but, yes I'd see it. I hope it does well but I was just relaying what a friend told me.
All i can say to you is...

Posted: 8/25/04 at 9:47amWow, Amneris. Why would you post that? This is part of the problem with the state of Broadway - a show that's starting out of town having people feel the need to criticize before it's even begun OUT OF TOWN. Producers are afraid to lay out money for anything, and this is a major reason why.

I sincerely doubt any producer is going to withdraw support from a show based on what Amneris's friend's boyfriend thought of a demo tape.
Let's get some perspective, people.
#12re: Little Women at the Virginia
Posted: 8/25/04 at 9:49amOf course not. But it's where negative buzz grows from. People whispering to their friends and shouting it on a message board. Broadway is a tiny community, as we well know.

Posted: 8/25/04 at 9:50amif my "CLOSE" friends boyfriends dogs neighbors cast is responsible for Chase Miskhin pulling out her cash then, bway really is pathetic...there's a different audience for everything.

The Broadway community is not the general audience, either.
Or else maybe no one's noticed that the people still going to see 'Phantom of the Opera' over and over don't give a crap that people on message boards don't like it.
'Little Women' will rise or fall on its own merits, regardless of what people say here before it reaches opening night.

Posted: 8/25/04 at 9:56amJesus Christ Superstar..You are making it like I AM THE FIRST PERSON here EVER to post an opinion about a show before it has "it's out of town"...if people only knew what OTHER producers say about shows before they pass on them..you'd be shocked we even have a bway still. If we aren't allowed opinions, we all may as well be chained to chucky cheese. I speak my mind. I am Amneris.
#18re: Little Women at the Virginia
Posted: 8/25/04 at 9:59amNow don't go getting all thought police on us, Anmeris. Nobody said you weren't allowed an opinion. But we are allowed to question why you thought it necessary to post something negative about a show that nobody has yet seen or heard (apart from those working on it, obviously).
