Some new pics of the Living on Love cast just got posted. I'm so excited about this cast. Who are you most excited to see in the show?
Renee Fleming will be great in her debut, and I'm excited about Anna Chlumsky and Douglas Sills. But I think I might be most excited to see Jerry O'Connell. I can't tell you how many times I watched Stand by Me over and over again in the 80's.
It's a fun show and Renee has comedy chops I did not expect. But don't go looking for any "message" here.
You should invest!
Wee Thomas2, did you see it at Williamstown? Did the audience find it funny (even if it was a light hearted comedy)?
I did and they did. Renee gets to sing (a little) and the story is cute, but that's about it. We only saw that and "Fool For Love" and we're really looking forward to seeing that one again on B'way.
RENEE FLEMING!!!!! and yeah i heard its actually very funny!
Renee Fleming and Douglas Sills take the cake for me, especially after what I saw Sills do at Lady Be Good.
But Joe DiPietro and Kathleen Marshall? They brought one of my favorite Broadway musicals to life. Can't wait to see what they did with this play!
Saw the show at Williamstown, left at the intermission. Obvious, silly and flat, and Renee should stick to singing.

I saw the show at Williamstown and found it a total delight! I'm sure it's only improved for Broadway. Renee proved she can be an great comedian as well as a singer. I laughed. Renee also has a great musical moment at the end that was really touching.
The show hasn't got much on it's mind, it just aims to entertain. It succeeds. It does not have much "nutritional value" so to speak, more of a delactible dessert, with a enchanting star turn.
Awesome post Noel, thanks for sharing. I wish I had seen the Williamstown production!
I'm rooting for her to win a Tony!!!!!

Who woulda guessed back then that Jerry O'Connell would one day be a leading man on Broadway and married to Rebecca Romijn.
The same guy who had his "junk" severed by piranhas onscreen will be rubbing elbows with Fleming and Sills onstage.
I saw the show at WTF and it's enjoyable. It's fluffy, fuzzy, and not really a show that requires deep thinking. And that's okay. It's fun and that's what the show strives to be.
I'm hearing a lot of people say it is fun and light and not a thinker. Can that kind of show sell enough tickets to do well?
ummmmmm RENEE FLEMING IS ONLY THE MOST FAMOUS OPERA SINGER ALIVE RIGHT NOW. I suspect this show will be hard to get tickets to, not necessarily like NPH in hedwig, but similar. Plus, the show is actually good, and will probably be nominated for a few tonys
Phillypinto, that is my thinking too. Renee packs the MET and people pay way more for a seat to see her in that huge setting. I think her fans are going to pack the much smaller theatre for a chance to get up close and personal with her, for a relatively smaller ticket price.

I hope they have a rush policy
At the very least there are the $25 seats for every performance (though they are in the back corner of course).
