Hi,
I just called the Palace theater and found out information on the Lottery for Liza.
There will be 16 seats at $26.50 each
I asked her what time she said between 7 & 8PM which I find weird considering that the show starts at 8.
Also for Sunday Matinees she said between 2 & 3. It's a 3PM show on Sunday.
Hope this is helpful
If someone could double check the times that'd be great
Thanks

Posted: 12/1/08 at 5:31pmYes, I am confused as well. I actually stopped at the Palace two hours ago to inquire as to the lottery information. The box office associate said that they had not been given any information on the lottery yet, and I would have to check back another time.

I asked at the box office tonight. The woman there said that this is the official policy: Starting an hour before the performance, "lottery" tickets will be sold first-come-first-served. The policy starts on Friday. I forgot to ask if it was cash only.
So basically, they gave up on the lottery and went with a general rush.
I wonder how early people will start lining up for this one.

I cant provide much help but here goes.
I was walking by Times Square and decided to pop into the Palace box office today to inquire about the lottery. The box office person told me that she had no clue. She said the man who runs the lottery was supposed to be there last night but he never showed. The theater proceeded to sell the lottery tickets as rush and gave them to the first few people in line. She said he was supposed to be there tonight but wasn't sure how it would run, or what he was going to do when/if he arrived. Again, she said it's 1 hour before show-time, $26.50 - 16 seats, 2 per person. She also pointed out a group of guys standing in the back of the box office who had been waiting since 1PM .. I got there at 4PM to ask ... yea.

So you have to stand all day to get a ticket. THAT SUCKS.
If you have a broken foot how do you stand that long. A lottery would have been a better option. What a bummer, not terrific!
I really wanted to see this show but sadly can't stand for 8 hours because of my broken ankle. THAT SUCKS.

Where were the seats?
Also does anyone know if they are going to actually do a lottery or just keep it as a rush?

Posted: 12/6/08 at 10:33pmA friend did rush tonight. She said that there were extra tickets given out. Also, it didn't look as if the people in line had waited all day. I guess they're not lining up that early.

Posted: 12/6/08 at 11:20pmLol! That MUST be the answer. I mean if it was just a walker then everything would be ok. But since this walker even comes with a bench to sit on, then it's out of the question.

Posted: 12/7/08 at 12:34amSo the deal is there never was anybody to do a lotto, they were just called lottery tickets even though they were always supposed to be sold to the first people on line, so that's why the box office staff were confused. If they had only sold the 16 tickets nobody who got there after 4 would have gotten a ticket but since they sold 24, the people who got there around 5:45 were the last to get tickets. The show is awesome and I wouldn't have wanted to sit anywhere else in the theatre. Liza smiled or waved at everyone in the front row multiple times.

Posted: 12/7/08 at 12:36amI think I'll definitely give this one a try on Tuesday, when it will hopefully be less crowded with weekend tourists but probably chock full of crazy Liza-loving New Yorkers.

She said the man who runs the lottery was supposed to be there last night but he never showed.
Maybe it is my slightly drunk state, but for some reason, I find that absolutely hilarious.

adamgreer, I totally agree! lol
So, no one really answered...what's the estimated time to get to the theatre to ensure you get yourself a "lottery" ticket? I want to try it this week!
