Liza will be featured on CBS Sunday Morning this weekend, July 31. They interviewed her last year, Jane Pauley did the honors with Liza and Michael F at the piano. Liza was sitting at the piano on a high chair. So if this is the set up again, it’s another repeat to fill the hour.

It may well be a repeat, but it may also be a new segment, as Liza's 1979 Carnegie Hall concerts have FINALLY been released in a very well-received deluxe CD package. At any rate, I'll be watching. Thanks for the heads-up, I wasn't aware of this July 31 TV appearance.

Not to dash your hopes, but I doubt very much Liza will be doing a new interview to focus on the CD release of a 43 year old album. I doubt she's getting any worthwhile residuals (if any at all) on this, so why would she be promoting this ? Unless the artist has a financial stake in a re-issue of an old album*, not many artists will sit down and be interviewed to promote an old album being released / remastered on CD. It's just not worth it for them without a financial gain.

*Olivia Newton-John was an exception last year, promoting the re-release of the remastered / deluxe packaging of 'Physical' for it's 40th anniversary. The reason being that ONJ had bought back her entire catalog from the 70s, 80s and 90s and was an active participant in the project - so financially, she benefitted from the success of its sales (which it sold beyond expectations).

Liza and Michael are executive producers of the new 1979 release, it includes introductory notes from them, etc. This concert was also restored and remixed using Liza’s personal multitrack tapes of all three performances at Carnegie Hall.

For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t consider this a simple reissue. This is the first time the concert has been released in it’s entirety (for the Ultimate 3-CD set). It’s also being released in a red vinyl.

I am big. It’s the REVIVALS that got small.

This was a repeat - they said Pauley interviewed her 'earlier this year', but I'm positive it was the end of last year. No mention of her 3 disc CD release.

The interview with actor James Hong was a repeat also, and I'm pretty sure the 'subzero' refrigerator company CEO was from last summer, too.

It is a repeat but even so, it's so great to see her....

No sure why Micheal is part of the piece, but I guess if you want to get Liza you have to include MF

I think she needs assist all times and he’s the one. Helping her with everything in the interview - even the answers I’m sure. But they do some clever editing and make it look like she’s somewhat independent.

I was a bit disappointed this wasn't about her "Live at New York" CD, but I'll never turn down a chance to see my Liza in anything. She's always been an inspiration for me (and many others).

I'm glad MF is there for her. I wish he'd push her to retire "Embraceable You" for a bit, though. She has sung so many great songs. If I were MF and that close to LM, I'd encourage them to consider one of the "Gently" or "Confessions" songs that are so great on those CDs.

Before I die, though, I'd like to see just ONE piece on Liza Minnelli that does not mention Judy Garland.

I hope Liza is still with us this time next year and the year after that (where she may finally get her KFC, oops, I mean her Kennedy Center "Honor"Liza on CBS SUNDAY MORNING 7-31.

It ended up just being a repeat, but Liza would probably get more residuals from this album than any of her others. At the time of her 1979 appearance at Carnegie Hall, she didn't have a record deal. She paid for the concert to be recorded out of pocket. That's part of the reason it was so hard to find. It never got large scale distribution. She sold it at concerts for a short time alongside her merch.
