Damn, that’s a bummer. 

I would like to see Ariana take a stab at it! Obviously impossible this year because of her tour, but she’s got great comedic timing and it would be good for viewership (even if her fans tune out after the opening number and get other bits through social media). 

The instagram account posted a new AI message (over three minutes).

I don’t know if they really needed to include the “on March 12th, if I’m still here, and I fully intend to be” - Maybe that’s something Liza would or has said but it just felt odd hearing an artificial voice say it. ‘She’ also goes on about the Oscar situation again.

I was really excited about this last hurrah for Liza but the whole thing is bugging me. I sincerely hope there isn’t anything ill intended happening behind closed doors. I’m recalling Mickey Rooney and many others who were exploited by those closest to them in their later years.

On one hand, AI is ripe for exploiting people’s likeness and the coin of their fanbase…but on the other, maybe she really wants to work but this is the only feasible option? I feel guilty for being disheartened. 

Liza is in great spirits in this video for the People cover story. Nice to see her silly side again - her goofy face is just like Judy’s. 

Her IG account posted a preview of the audiobook which is out today - it definitely sounds like her voice. If they did use the AI software, it has excellent results. 

Let’s hope not. They’d either have to heavily retool it (which I think is, safe to say, probably not happening) or just put it out for licensing the way they did with Hunchback.

I recall instances of men’s forgetting of lines or use of ear pieces being acknowledged, but no such “lambasting”. 

“Drops bombshell” = performed a Tangled song at a Disney festival and people are assuming it’s confirmation of a full Tangled stage adaptation, of which we already know is in the works. No real point in sharing this other than to hear Ashley Brown sing it. 

Pre-West End tour begins in November, then six months at the Adelphi beginning 02/12/27. 

The staging will be basically the same in terms of it being the same set, Daldry maintains, but he merrily suggests that once rehearsals start, he and Hall are bound to “be able to change things around in the show once again. We always have, and we will again.”

Bull. I was one of the first people to buy tickets, every seat was available. Have had zero trouble navigating downtown LA. Keep trying. 

Don’t think there’s any reason to suspect this will be cancelled. 

Btw - each ticket comes with a signed book and to say they “haven’t sold any tickets” when the link you provided shows otherwise…is something else. Brain worms. 

I never got to see Liza live before, so I will not be missing this. 

Jinkx is out of the show next Tuesday and Wednesday for a Portland concert. Hannah will be on both days. 

Jinkx was asked on Vulture’s Good One podcast (posted earlier today) who should play Mary next, and the names she listed were:

Per Understudies.org, Martin Landry has been on since Monday for Mary’s Husband’s Assistant, no outs for Kumail.

Landry is on again tomorrow - as well as September 9-14 and 16-18. 

Hopefully producers remember his attendance record next time he wants to do Broadway “on his terms”.
