Well...I, too, am not worried about Guests' intentions. And I, too, have worked with a Corky. What makes me bristle is the guy who is throwing those words round as some sort of slight...one with a very strong homophobic bend.
Orange, you really need to be less obsessed with past posts. Some people live in the moment and post, in the moment. Btw, I didn't fail to do a search for your old posts "proving my point" because there were none, I didn't bother because it's ridiculous to me. mmmkay?
Just because you personally don't want to be held responsible for what you've said in the past doesn't mean I (and every other member of the board) won't judge you based on it. If you want to exist solely "in the moment" online, I suggest you join a message board where everyone posts anonymously instead. Or acquire a sockpuppet screenname.
And as I said, the posts don't exist regardless of whether you look or not. Why are you even bringing that up here? I thought you didn't want to continue a petty online argument. Oops, there I go again, pointing out your past mistakes- er, posts.
Just look at some of his further remarks to those who commented on his blog:
"My original audience was not for the clucking hens on All That Chat, but rather it got linked from there and now it's like someone whacked the hornet's nest."
"Since most of them don't know much about B'way at all (to say nothing of All That Chat), I put together a primer on the strike for them and didn't feel it necessary to address all the finer points."
"then you must be any one of the chubby merchandizing fops who work in the lobby and regularly embarrass themselves at Don't Tell Mommas on Open Mike night for lack of any other viable venue for your, um, talents."
"Again, this post was never intended for the Broadway obsessives at All That Chat who spend their days snickering like Heathers about whose voice broke on the High G during the matinee of 'Wicked.'"
I believe he is both the pot and the kettle.

"The chat rooms there are mainly populated by frustrated Corky St. Clairs, pimply teen-queens and assorted wash-ups, has-beens and never-wases who all have an opinion about Broadway and how the industry works, none of which are actual informed opinions. "
That's pretty accurate.

Orangeskittles,
I did not say that his comments turned my off to the union. What I said was that whenever some resorts to name calling I stop listening. I was not isolating it to this case.
I have been very vocal regarding my opinion that I do not agree with the union in this fight. I do not necessarily agree with the league 100% either.
I am glad that you took the time to read my previous posts. Anything else you would like to know about me. I am taken but you never know what the future holds.
I don't like generalization either. All types of people here. It's a good place to learn more about Broadway. This person is not speaking in his best interest since I spent a lot of time defending their position and trying to understand what the issues were.
I don't work on Broadway, have no intention of working on Broadway and really I don't want to be on stage. I just like some of the shows. I've run into to some pretty fun conversation here. It is a good place to promote and support the shows you enjoy. It is also a good place to share your opinion good, bad or otherwise about what is up coming or on stage right now.
I see all of what this posters see but also so much more. Too bad he doesn't post more often or read more of the threads. He wants kids not to act like kids? He needs to think a little bit more about those who support the shows that pay his bills.
I didn't see it as homophobic either. He seems to have a lot of problems with people in general so even if he is, he is not a credit to his Union right now. Some of us at least care about his job. That is lot more than many of those who are saying how much they hate them for daring to go on strike. At least the Internet and boards like these offer him a place to speak his piece. Too bad he lacks the skills to be an asset to the team.
Though it stinks to think that we have paid to help fund this strike. I now see it was really just a spoken agreement between the League of how they would distribute the money they made from the shows. They could have designated some for evening cocktails if they pleased. It is just sad to see how much effort they put into making this strike happen. It just confirms the fact that they planned in advance to not negotiate and that the Union is telling the truth. The League shut down talks and forced a strike. Just let blame lie where it deserves to be.
