Glad you enjoyed it so much. I liked it. Didn't love it, but it had some good things going for it. Karen Ziemba and Jason Dannielly pretty much made the show for me.
Foster-I'm surprised that Pierce's performance was the best thing for you. I didn't think he was that great. He's just not strong enough of a stage performer to carry a show. I pretty much spent the entire time wondering what James Naughton or Greg Edleman could have done with it.

It's Edelman, and are you serious? He's never "done" anything with a part in his life.
Naughton is altogether too debonair for the role of Cioffi. Pierce is perfect.

"Are you really that sad and pathetic that you need to take the time to sit and write a whole paragraph about it? No-one was asking you. So shut up."
You're rude. Are you really that sad and pathetic that you needed to sit and write a whole paragraph about that?
Are you referring to WannaBeFoster's post? What did they do wrong? WannaBeFoster didn't like the show, it's not like they were attacking the poster for liking the show. I don't see anything wrong with differing opinions in a "rave" thread as long as no one is attacking each other.
Forget about him, Foster, you have a much better rep on these boards.

David Hyde Pierce was born to the role of Lt. Frank Cioffi, and in my always humble opinion, his near perfect performance is exactly why he'll upset Raul Esparza when he takes the Tony for lead in a musical.
Fast forwarding a bit, when DHP's contract is up in a year; if he doesn't extend his stay, Curtains will have a major problem filling those shoes. Ditto with fabulous Debra Monk and over-the-top perfection of Ed Hibbert. But I'll worry about that in a year.

La Monk made me think the show was better than it actually was.
But while she is still in it... I'm not complaining!

Posted: 5/2/07 at 5:50pmNot only would I be shocked if DHP stole the Tony from Esparza, I might die a little inside. Esparza's performance was nothing short of breathtaking. DHP was somewhat adequate in a pretty good show. He is completely upstaged by the natural stage pros that are Debra Monk, Jason Dannielly and Karen Ziemba. Edward Hibbert was also quite wonderful. Those four were the real personalities on stage. DHP? Not so much.

A cute behind-the-scenes piece with DHP and Megan Sikora. DHP may not be as polished or a stage pro, but his character isn't supposed to be. Still I was amazed at how good he actually was and how he moved.
Edward Hibbert's part is naturally showy and flamboyant, whereas Cioffi is supposed to be an ordinary detective, a mere mortal, amongst stage pros.

Posted: 5/3/07 at 2:16pmI hate that whole "Cioffi isn't a big personality" bit. Fine, then the character is extremely flawed (which doesn't surprise me, as the show is far from perfect) and DHP doesn't rise above the material.
