Looking At Past Tony's Question
Looking At Past Tony's Question#0

All were nominated for best musical...Contact won. But Aida was not even nominated? I mean looking back having heard all the Swings! recordings...Honestly the best one is Aida...and it does not even get a nomination? I am not trying to beat a dead horse but I am a little suprised at this. Reason I bring this up now is because I never really watched the tonys before. They always come on during finals so I never get the chance.

I know there are a lot of people who thought AIDA was a weak and mediocre production.
And I don't think the critics raved over it.
re: Looking At Past Tony's Question#2
Posted: 9/1/05 at 2:04amMaybe I am biased because we are performing a medley with my Show Choir and that I absolutely love Heather Headley...Too me - Written in the Starts - The Gods Love Nubia - Dance of the Robe - Elaborate Lives all are incompareable to others...actually the once I think with a decent score is Wild Party...which I actually really enjoy. I am just really suprised...I mean Heather wins for actress yet her musical does not even get nominated....I just listened to a few things from Swing! and the little bit i heard did not seem great. Was there other qualities to these to merit it? I am really unfamiliar with Swing! And Contact (aside from hearing the recording).
