Looking for 2pm Sunday matinee

I have a 7pm flight out of Newark on Sunday, August 7, which means I could fit a 2pm matinee in before departing for the airport, but a 3pm show would be too late. Unfortunately, most shows seem to have 3pm matinees on Sundays. My options are:

  • Beautiful
  • School of Rock
  • American Psycho
  • Cats

Thoughts? I've never seen Cats, and it really does not appeal to me, but I feel like I should see it just because it's so iconic.

You could always see a 90 minute show at 3pm....like Fun Home, then you'd be out at the same time as you would get out of a longer 2pm matinee.

i've got 99 problems and a revival of parade would solve like 94 of them

Fun Home doesn't play on Sundays. Are there other shorter shows? Most of the plays open now will be closed by August.

I'd go with American Psycho

An Act of God and The Humans are both 90 minutes. Both of those should be running when you're here. If not, then I'd go with Beautiful.

I'd go with Beautiful or An Act of God, although the 1pm School of Rock would probably be the most relaxed option for you, and it's a good show, too.

American Psycho runs close to 3 hours.

Then again you could leave at intermission. The second act does fall off a bit.

^American Psycho runs 2hrs 25 minutes with intermission.

Plenty of time to see it and make your flight.

Assuming it starts promptly at 2pm as well (don't bet on it). Anyway, there are whispers it could be closing soon. You definitely want to catch BWalk even if you don't see the whole thing.

Oh, man, looks like AP is out. https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Breaking-News-AMERICAN-PSYCHO-Sets-June-Closing-Date-20160526

So I guess it's between Beautiful, School of Rock, and Cats then.

Between those 3 I'd say Beautiful.
