There is nothing remotely right about Bette Midler as the Witch.
You might as well have said Abe Vigoda.

What do you all think of Carly Rose Sonenclar or Rachel Crow as Little Red Riding Hood?

Besty, I love you.
I really think that the Anna Kendrick, Sarah Hyland, Logan Lerman casting was just about perfect (on paper, no idea how they were at the actual reading). I don't think Marshall needs to mess with that cast. Hyland might be hard to get given her MODERN FAMILY duties, but she'd be so so good in the role, she's developed a great knack for comedy lately and she was lovely in GREY GARDENS on Broadway.

I think I'll only truly be happy with Michelle Pfeiffer in that role.

I also advocate a return to dubbing over singing.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

I wouldn't mind Carly Rose Sonneclare since she is pretty mature for 13 years old, but I wish she were a little older. What I like about Sarah Hyland is that she's young, but Little Red isn't a little girl. At least that's my vision.

"Bette was truly awful in Gypsy"
I agree. I personally would like her to stay away because I don't think it's worth the risk.

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

Me too! Thank you, qolbinau! Those were priceless and a great reminder of why Bette Midler needs to stay far away from this project (sorry, Jordan, you know I think you're awesome).

Well I love her and I loved her in GYPSY and I don't apologize for that. :)

ray, of those three you mention, Anna Kendrick was the only one who actually participated in the reading. Taylor Trensch was Jack and Casey Whyland was Little Red.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Trensch was so horribly bad in BARE, I can't even imagine how he would butcher the role of Jack.

Ha, somethingwicked, I totally made that up then, maybe got confused between the many "wish lists" people have posted and the actual cast from the reading. Thanks for the correction
