Lord of the Rings

Lord of the Rings the musical (edit: a "musical tale", not much of a musical apparently more a play with music) lands in Sydney in a week, they released this clip of Jemma Rix (previous Aus Elphaba and Elsa) singing Lothlorien and I'm obsesssssed. I've just come here to celebrate the vocals. Such a shame that it seems no one can get this show working to a Broadway standard, based on the reviews I've read of the Chicago run.

They’re recording a cast album?!  That was stunning, though I do miss the grander original orchestrations.

I'd love a new cast album but I think that's just a promo video and not footage of a cast album recording session.

Per Jemma's insta it was just a promo recording - very smart to release this, though perhaps misleading from what I've seen of the tone of the rest of the show - no cast album yet
