exactly, that's why they are thinking Las Vegas. Could we possibly see Lord of the Rings at Disney World?

No, we'd see it at Universal Studio's CityWalk.
Interesting thought. Would this make more money in a U.S. sit-down production, or a tour?
Because of the cast size, I doubt they would do both.

Well bwaysinger, it does sound like the Cast Recording would be great as background music while you are reading the actual novel.
No, that would be Howard Shore's gorgeous, masterpiece score for the film trilogy.
That said, over the years there has been countless musical compositions inspired by Tolkien (everything from folk music to Led Zeppelin), so I'm looking forward to what the musical team can come up with.
