Man, does this guy always have three musicals going at once? Not that I'm complaining (and I KNOW AfterEight will be thrilled
)
In LA this May 23-July 1

Interesting: he's just writing the music. He doesn't usually work with a collaborator.

He seems to have a passion for Spanish musicals, Bernarda Alba, some parts of Giant, and now this?! Now he really has to be inventive!

I believe some of his early shows (pre First Lady Suite/Hello Again) had him just doing music as well. While I think his lyrics sometimes are great, and never awful, it may do him good to have a more active collaborator. I see Graciela is doing the choreography/staging once again, which in this case sounds a good fit.
You're mistaken: He wrote the book, lyrics, and music for both of the shows you mention. And for my money, they feature some of his best work as a librettist. But one of the chief complaints about Lachiusa is that he often tries to do too much, so maybe he's trying it out here.
Well, Eric was talking about "pre" those shows, right?
I must need thicker glasses than I already wear, since I completely missed the "pre".
Apologies, Eric!
LOL I was confused there for a moment. Yes, I meant Triplets in Univorm, Artificial Reality, etc.
