Im coming to NY from England next week and want to try the Rent Lottery. Im coming with my family but only my dad and me want to see it.
My question is, there are 4 of us going but we only want 2 tickets. Does that therefore mean all 4 of us are allowed to enter into the draw and try and win the pair of tickets? My sister is only 9 so this is what im wondering about.
Yes, all 4 may enter. If one of you is drawn, then later someone else is drawn you can just say you don't need it.
I have seen little kids entering the lottery at most shows. Just bring her passport with you for identification.
I was at the Wicked lotto once where a very young girl won. They just used the parents to ID the kid because it was clear that she was too young to have any photo ID of her own.
If you get the ticket with the black mark on it, the Rent Heads stone you to death.
Yes Winston. But in the case of a 9 year old coming from England, she will have a passport. :)
"If you get the ticket with the black mark on it, the Rent Heads stone you to death." Erm whats that? lol
And ye we will all have our passports. Think we will try the Tuesday night and if we don't win will try and get from TKTS. Gonna have to read up on times and stuff of the lottery now!
Hopefully if 4 of us enter we have a canny good chance of winning one pair of ticks!
Shirley Jackson.
You have me very confused now lol. What you on about? And i couldn't care less bout the Rent Heads this is my one chance to see this show done properly (Aka not the remixed crap I saw in London).
Mark, don't listen to BorstalAs*. It's just her PMS kicking in.
Jordangirl answered all you need to know.
It's called a joke, Wicked_beast4...Jesus, the Rentheads have no sense of humor, do they? Christ!

In terms of times, for an 8pm show, they will start taking names at 5:30 and draw at 6.

Thanks :). What do you think the chances are for winning on a tuesday night?
haha, sorry Borstal. I read "The Lottery" before, but completely forgot about it till now.
No real clue. But it hasn't been as crazy as some people make it out to be. With 4 people you should have a good chance. Also, if for some reason no one is drawn, they almost always have deals as good as if not better than tkts (and for those at the theatre you can use plastic), so check those out.
We hit the matinee yesterday and got picked. First time I have ever attempted it. With four, I would bet you have a great chance.
Sounds great! Especially if we can get offers if we don't win. What better way to start my week in New York, and also my first Broadway Show!
