Hey, I haven't been to NYC at all this year, so I'm out of the loop as far as what shows are too risky for lottery/rush. I'm going to be here Wednesday thru Sunday of this week (Nov 11- Nov 15), and I want to get in as many shows as possible.
I still haven't seen In the Heights because I've previously never been able to win. Is the lottery still packed for it? What about Next to Normal and Bye Bye Birdie? Also, is Avenue Q's lottery still pretty much the same?
Thanks in advance!!

I have a lottery question completely unrelated to the OP (very sorry, I just did not want to start a new thread).
Has anyone ever gotten a ticket for something ( balcony or mezz)and wanted to try lottery/rush for a better seat? Is this inappropriate and/or were you able to sell your other ticket?

Yes. Yes.
Once I had a pair of mezzanine seats for RENT and then won the lottery and resold my tickets to someone in the TKTS line. A few months ago I had a balcony ticket to HAIR and then won the lottery and resold my ticket to someone who did not win the lottery.
ETA: Reselling your ticket is perfectly legal and legitimate up to some percentage over the face value (I don't remember the exact number). I never ask for more than I paid.

Yesterday (Sunday, 11/
, we lost the Ragtime lottery (few losers, most won) but walked right across the street and were first in line for the Jersey Boys standing room tickets.

On my last trip two weeks ago I had no problem rushing Finian's Rainbow or Memphis after the box office opened. Both were still in previews though judging by their box office numbers this week it should still not be a problem.
I barely made Bye Bye Birdie rush - they had 4 tickets (on a Saturday) for each performance and I was the last one to get a ticket. Got there at an hour early for that one..
