Jukebox musical?!!!! Really? I don't think I've EVER heard any thing by Weill being pumped out of a jukebox in a diner (except for maybe Mack the Knife). This isn't a jukebox musical. Weill is originally a theatrical composer unlike ABBA, John Lennon, The Beach Boys, or The Four Seasons.
Yeah...no way in hell would I consider this a Jukebox musical. The cast, the director, the concept, the music - it just sounds pretty damn wonderful. Already got my subscription tickets - can't wait to see this one!
I think the correct label for a show of this sort would be biomusical, in the vein of Buddy or A Class Act or even The Boy from Oz. Technically, Jersey Boys and Lennon were biomusicals too, while also being jukebox musicals. But let's not slander the good names of Uhry, Prince, and Weill with the label, please.
