Low-residency MFA directing programs

I don't understand the question. Don't most MFA programs run Fall through Spring (either 2 semesters or 3 quarters) with summers off? UCLA's MFA programs (including directing) do.

Alex, do you understand what the OP is asking? Is s/he looking for a program s/he can do online and then do an abbreviated residency of, say, three quarters (summers not included)?

I can't think of a worse idea for a graduate program in the arts. I have an MFA in Playwriting myself and MOST of what I learned came from on-campus collaboration with directors, actors, scholars and my fellow candidates.
