Did anyone see it? What was it like?

Dang. I missed it. Totally forgot (because that's the kind of guy I am). I've been fortunate enough to sing some of Brian's stuff. Let me tell you, there's a big award in his future, and tons of threads devoted to "Will Idina be in the new Lowdermilk show?" or the like.

I wanted to go to this but have been sick with the flu all weekend. re: Lowdermilk & Kerrigan at Opia I know Rob mentioned he was going so I hope he'll post about it later today!

I was there. It was an amazing show.

It started with a hilarious opening that was sung by Brian Lowdermilk and Kait Kerrigan themselves, with Randy Redd accompanying them on the piano. After the opening, Brian took over on the piano and a succession of amazing performers did songs from shows written by Brian and Kait (and one, I think, just by Brian). I think that a lot of the songs were from The Woman Upstairs. There was also one song written by one of their musical theatre writing camp campers (sung by the student), as well as a ten-minute musical that they wrote with the campers, called The Kid Who Got a D in Gym.

Some of the songs were absolutely hilarious, as was the ten-minute musical. Everything -- and everone -- sounded great. And the reaction was really loud. It felt really exciting to be there.

I would single out the people who were especially good, but as I try to do that, I find that I'm naming everyone who sang. And since I have my playbill here, and maybe that's really what your question was, they were: Michael Arden, Sara Chase, Rodrick Covington, Harris Doran, Alison Fraser, Mandy Gonzalez, Michael Hunsaker, Emily Kaplan, Randy Redd, Kate Shindle, Pearl Sun and Josh Young.
