I'll wait till it comes out on audio book. You know Patti YELLING it at you.
Well, I guess this would be a good reason to finally learn how to read.
I cannot wait to read this.
there should be a midnight release party.
It will sell about 10 copies.
She's had a mixed carreer but I do not want to read about how she bosses people around.
All the best to her.
SO gonna read this
LuPone has a huge cult following who will eat this book up.

I'd be interested in reading her thought processes for dumping Les Mis for Anything Goes

Well, she has said in an interview that the reasoning behind her leaving Miss Saigon was because she apparently knew that all subsequent productions would be a "copy" of the London production. That, and all she wanted was the experience to work with the RSC in London. She DID enjoy doing the show.
Patti was such a good Kim, though, Mattbrain.
This is going to be THE Broadway book! Look at all the people she's known worked with- Hal, Mandy, Cameron Macintosh, Lloyd Webber, Sondheim, Laurents, David Mammet, John Doyle, not to mention John Housman, Kevin Kline, all of her teachers and colleuges from Julliard. This list goes on and on! And all the stories- her training, the difficulties of Evita, Les Miserables in London, the LCT Anything Goes, the trials and tribulations of Sunset Boulevard, Sweeney Todd in concert and on Broadway and her latest triumph, Gypsy. I can't wait! It's going to be one helluva book!
is it wrong that I'm more excited to read about her relationship with Kevin Kline than...most other things in the book?
also, I actually had a serious response to the Les Mis question. she said that she thought the American production would be a copy of the RSC production, yes, but I think I read fairly recently that she had also just broken up with a boyfriend and that informed Fantine and she didn't want to keep up with that on Broadway. or something similar.
There should be a midnight release party in the city reminiscent of the Harry Potter parties.

How cute! I can see it now, Patti fans will come dressed as their favorite role Ms LuPone has played and drag queens come dressed as Patti. There will be prizes for the Best Dressed. Then Ms LuPone will appear in a blaze of light. In an instant, people will fall to the ground screaming, "We're Not Worthy!" Ms LuPone will be heard to say, "I know." No one will dare stand because people know that no one's head is allowed be higher than Ms. LuPone's. To make the event more special, the plan will be to play the cast recording of LUPONEGYPSY (if it come out by 2010). A new store clerk will be so nervous that instead of playing LUPONEGYPSY, he will play the 1959 GYPSY cast recording. He will quickly realize his mistake and remove the offending CD and replace it with what he assumes is the right one. Instead, it will be Ms. Peters' GYPSY recording. At the same time, in another part of the store, someone, who looks like ALW will start playing Ms. Close's Sunset Blvd. CD. There will be a rumble, a flash of light and Ms LuPone will disappear in a cloud of smoke.
Of course, her fans will be in shock and will go into mourning, never to be seen again. For the rest of us, life will go on!

Yes because fans of Patti and those who don't enjoy her are two different species of people. How ever could life go on if they were to actually co-exist?!
A Director, you really need to find a new hobby.
Mattbrain: You have your shows wrong. Miss LuPone was in Les Miz in London, not "Miss Saigon". from RC in Austin, Texas
A Director, you really need to find a new hobby.
And a new career while you're at it.
Is the book gonna be called "Memoir of LuPoneisha"
:)
You know--A Director is right. LuPone is a talentless piece of baggage, and those who like her are fools. I hadn't thought about it, really, but he's made his case so clearly, I'm convinced.
A Director, thanks. No need to ever click on threads labeled "Patti" or "LuPone"; they'll be about Labelle and Robert.
Thanks again.
No, really. Thanks.

"Memoir of Luponeisha" is quite catchy actually. I'm totes going to get this the DAY half of it is leaked to the internet but a crazed fan and then the other half when its released a week later!
Oughta be a gas!

Ha...you're not alone.
I also really, really want her to talk about her upbringing, as well.

I agree!
I'm actually really excited for just about everything she's going to write about, because I am...basically a creeper.
A Director-
It's really so sad. Please crawl away.
Reginald Tresilian-
