I'm going on vacation this summer and would like to wait outside the stage door to meet Tom. I have a friend that lives in New York that told me this is one of those shows where they make people who didn't see the show wait until those that did can get up front. Is this true? I already purchased a Playbill from the show in the hopes that I would have a decent chance to see him.

There's 2 sides. One side is for people who did not see the show that day and the other is for the people that did.

Thank you for the clarification! Do you happen to know which side is which? I'd hate to get up front on the wrong side.

The side closest to the theater entrance is for day of ticket holders. But trust me, the stage door people will tell you where you need to be.

Just so I'm clear, I would stand on the right side of the stage door as I look at it, like in this picture?

As in more toward the Lion King poster?

Thanks again for the help, I'm clearly very new at this whole thing :)

No. The stage door is on the opposite end of the entrance, next to that Hamlet poster on the wall under the four stars above it. And that's where you would stand. Under where those stars are, if you saw the show that day. If you did not see the show that day, you would stand to the left of there, where it is not covered and near that blue covered barricade. But again...they will tell you where to stand.

Yeah, it's right next to the poster under the marquee. My experiences at the Braodhurst stage door have always been pleasant. I saw Tom Hanks a couple weeks ago. Have fun and enjoy the play I liked it a lot.

Oh, okay! I was on the wrong end.

And xman, I'm not seeing the show, so do I need to get there ungodly early? My friend said something about 2 or 3 hours before but that seems excessive to me.

I would get there at least 90 minutes early to be on the safe side.

I agree 90 minutes or 1:45 minutes beforehand. So likely you'll stand on the uncovered part. Protip: Ask politely for a picture with him most likely he'll oblige.

Awesome picture! :) Would it be impolite to get both a picture and a signature?

So I'll get there as early as possible and get as close to the street as I can! Wish me luck :)
